Aug 9, 2010 - for all u guys saying its the groundmans fault its the climber fault look were he tied the piece of wood at and look were his block is 3 to 4 feet from point of tie in with the block causing it to shock load from point of fall to point of stop from all the slack in the rope so my thoughts on this is poor edcuation in using hardware in the tree on the climbers part

When the top dropped, pulling tight on the line, it jerked the trunk so violently that it kicked the climber's spikes out of the tree and tossed him around on his lanyard like a rag doll.I'v had it happen to me a couple times. And yes....it sucks.
