Overcoming ones racist views does not retroactively make you not racist. If at the end of his life Hitler had come to get over his white supremacy stance, it would not have magically change history so that all of the jews, blacks, Chinese, etc he and his ilk killed, suddenly have life again. You appear to be arguing that he wasn't racist because he overcame his racism.

Bashing franklin for being a racist and stopping there is bankrupt ideology at its worst. There are many historical figures who get such treatment where any good they did and any mending of their ways is tossed aside in order to support a particular political or moral ideology that needs to demonize them because it is too weak to stand up on its own.

He stated his opposition to shanghaing blacks in Africa and planting them here.He mentioned the lovely white AND red. Red being the native americans. So no its not racist. At the beginning and end of the class the student chant a La Rasa speech and do offend tell history in a no accurate tone. There is also back history that is not said like: Chicano studies brought in Dolores Huerta and is stated "Republicans hate Latinos" or how Former Superintendent Tom Horn set in class too and derived at his conclusion.

I was on a board of TUSD students that were some of the first to view new measure that were put in place to screen and make it hard for guest speakers to come. the bill from what I remember doesn't not allow Chicano studies/literature to replace junior/senior history/ English credits instead it make it a elective credit like Black and Asian-American studies/ literature.
