The Spirit of God will not force, control or manipulate anyone to do anything. He won't ever force Himself into a person. It is this descriptive of the gentlemanly (if that's a word!) character that is attributed to the Holy Ghost.

I want to be so close to Him that I walk in what He would like me to do, and I know what He'd like me to do is the works of Jesus. You may be thinking of little automatons, or robots...I doubt anyone else is thinking like that, but rather to be "controlled" for the sake of love.

Apr 30, 2012 - A good question. My answer and opinion is: God has a destiny for us. And His will for our lives far exceeds our own. So if God wants to help me make it through certain areas of my life, I'm all for letting Him. Reminds me of the verses "all things are possible WITH God, Not my will, but YOURS be done" All depends on How much we want to let God take control (lol, Jesus take the wheel much?) And if God knows what's best for us, then Him operating through us and yielding to Him can only help!

Obeying God is a very good thing. I know, I have disobeyed God so much. Read the Bible, the best Father to have is God.

And, it's not controlling but we yield to His love to be free from the vices of this life, and to help others as best we can. We are not perfect but we do our best with the help of the Holy Spirit.
