**Updated January 2012.** I think an experimental bass with 9 strings played on the Peavey stand by Mario Bartone from Germany (look him up). It was toward the end of the show whilst walking out that a small group of people were watching this guy messing around. According to another interview I found he has played for over 15 years with 4 and 6 string bases but wanted to improve the range. The reason: So that he can match voices and other instruments such as a piano, (a low A or low G) - this will play chords like a guitar and goes down to 21hz which is close to as low as the human ear can hear. He was not on a stage, I was passing and had my video camera in my bag and shot this as I found it interesting. Not sure that he warrants great analysis, it is what it is, - a guy jamming on a relatively unusual base, nothing more. Please note, responses with bad language will be removed.

May 24, 2012 - i know there's a point to 4 stringed basses but clearly if you're too stupid to get my sarcasm then you're too stupid to know that the only thing that the other 5 strings does is extend your ability to play different octaves. 1 string=bad solo. 2 strings=decent solo and so on. Let the men play their instruments and you should really stay in the kitchen,"gurl", and stick with something you know.
