Apr 20, 2012 - I think Mr. Driscoll makes an error in lumping all religious people together according to his past experience with misused religion. I can agree with him that judgement and self righteousness are contrary to Christianity. Yet he appears to be judging religious people pretty severely. After all, Jesus did establish his Church for a reason. He warns in the Sermon on the Mount, to do what the Pharisees say, not what they do. Meaning the law was correct, but they themselves did not follow it. For C

May 15, 2012 - because the sin separates the sinner from God, that's why Jesus came to save us and became the door to the Father/God.. if God hated sinners, then Jesus wouldn't come to save any of us! john 3,16 even mentions His love!! those who don't believe throw themselfs into hell. God made the door, that's their own choice to walk through it or not! He is holy and will forever be holy. And He loves the sinner, YES!
Taiwan1997 Says:
May 15, 2012 - If you have time could you explain passages like Psalm 5:5 and Hosea 9:15. I don't get it.
Taiwan1997 Says:
May 15, 2012 - I thought God is the righteous judge and He will send the unrepentant sinner to hell. I don't understand that we throw ourselves in hell. That sounds like the criminal passing execution on himself and pulling the switch. Just saying.
Taiwan1997 Says:
May 15, 2012 - Don't stop at John 3:16.....there is John 3:18.....John 3:36. It seems God's wrath abides on the unrepentant sinner.....not love.
Taiwan1997 Says:
May 15, 2012 - "God made the door, that's their own choice to walk through it or not!"I thought God chose? Now, you say man chooses...... I'm confused.

May 15, 2012 - "He is holy and will forever be holy. And He loves the sinner, Psalm 5:5 YES!He is holy and He will administer justice and He will be exalted for doing so.

May 16, 2012 - I didn't say that an unrepentant sinner doesn't go to hell, I just told you, they do, for not believing in the Savior! Don't you get it!?
Taiwan1997 Says:
May 16, 2012 - I get that and agree.....I don't get other things you stated....like the sinner throws himself in hell etc.
Glasgow1270 Says:
May 17, 2012 - Brainwashed how?
The8Animals8 Says:
May 17, 2012 - the sinner "throws himself into hell" = hell is the result of their choice to not repent.
repentandbelieve2010 Says:
May 17, 2012 - God, the righteous judge, throws the sinner in hell because the sinner broke God's laws. And God will be glorified for administering proper and righteous judgement. He also will be glorified for having mercy on the repentant sinner who places his trust in His Son.The sinner doesn't throw himself into hell....he is sent there by God Himself. Don't make the Bible say what you want it to say. It is what it is.
The8Animals8 Says:
May 18, 2012 - I know he's sent there by God, by not repent and trust Jesus! But who didn't repent? The sinner! And who is to blame for the result of it, that God sends him to hell, God or the sinner? The sinner! Then, who is REALLY throwing the sinner to hell by the hand of God? The sinner! Just like the police said to the criminal: "You got yourself in prison by doing that crime!" Now please don't play dumb!! I explain it no more.
richmahn Says:
May 21, 2012 - Yes, it is always amazing how people quote John 3:16 but not 3:18 and 3:36...why? The fact we are saved from God's wrath is the amazing part of the Gospel...the fact that he is Love and sent his Son just shows how, but WHAT we are saved from, which we all deserve, is the key, as we are all wretched, no one is good, not one.
repentandbelieve2010 Says:
May 22, 2012 - That is well put ............... 10/10
repentandbelieve2010 Says:
May 22, 2012 - The criminal deserves to be put in prison....he doesn't send himself there...
richmahn Says:
May 22, 2012 - That's true...no one wants to go to Hell, not even Satan, but it is his place to go, decided by God because yes, he is loving... loving to the fact that he let's people chose to be or not be with him, and of course Satan in eternity would also not be love for those loyal to him (right no is such a small short time compared to eternity). Yet every man, in his heart, makes a decision to rebel....people will deny they have done such a thing, but their conscience proves otherwise.
Shane0Mac13 Says:
May 23, 2012 - There is no such things as hell of the so called devil. He is a fallen angel that never found his way and got lost. God will never send people too hell. He will forgive you just like he forgave the 'devil'. He wouldn't seperate the bad from others. He treats us with equality, cuz everyone's has good inside that's why god forgives you cuz he understands you just like he will do for others. Theres a heaven for us. That's why Jesus died for our sins. He forgave us and in return we forgive our self.
