Jan 21, 2012 - No I am afriad you don't understand what experience is. and retorting with trite platitudes won't change that.

MandibleMuge Says:

Jan 21, 2012 - Hehe, okay this has gotten ridiculous. If your only response is "NO U" then there's no point continuing. Enjoy seeing the world one-dimensionally for the rest of your life.

syngar99 Says:

Jan 21, 2012 - haha, you see the issue at hand is that by accusing me of something you are guilty of, the only recourse for me is to go "dude really?"

MandibleMuge Says:

Jan 21, 2012 - Eh. I'm just astonished that you think music is something you have to qualify in to have an opinion on. Sure, some people will have baseless arguments but does that mean you can just say "This generation or gtfo", especially given the particular subject matter of this song?

syngar99 Says:

Jan 21, 2012 - i dont recall ever saying anything like "this generation of gtfo" and im not being snide when i say that. when it comes to age however, its pretty fair to say "someone who is so and so age probably does not X"

syngar99 Says:

Jan 21, 2012 - actually you are being academically dishonest, you talk about the quality of music and compare it to the era of the music.thats like saying "Beethoven wasnt so great they have the black plague back then"

KnfRaw Says:

Jan 21, 2012 - I'm talking about both. People glorify and overstate the music of the 60s and the period of time itself. I think that's more than clear in my comment.

syngar99 Says:

Jan 21, 2012 - no, sloppy diction.but also i disagree that people glorify the period, and frankly in many ways the music was glorious, I wasnt alive back then myself, but as i gained (here it comes ) experience I realize how good it was.as for the eras, while the 60s were rife with social issues, there are many days id take those problems over the shitpile we live in now.

mrfreeburn Says:

Jan 30, 2012 - Don't Criticize what you can't understand. Words from pure geniuses.

moproducer Says:

Jan 30, 2012 - Rest in peace, Dick Kniss (1937-2012). Bass players from all walks mourn you. You taught us that it's not just talent and skill; one must also put one's conscience into the music. God give you the eternal peace that you championed.

Crlmrtn Says:

Feb 13, 2012 - @tvviewer46 Ah come on, you were a teenager in the 60s, that's all.

liquidlightsurfer Says:

Feb 14, 2012 - @syngar99What was that all about. I came here to enjoy peacefull music. I know big words too. Supercalifragalistic Expealidotious. Now that's magical baby. I may not have the great education that you seem to tout... But I offer you this. To me, the lyrics of this song were way ahead of their time. The times are truly changing and those that resist this wonderfull shift towards love will experience a very bumpy ride. It is of course your choice

Feb 14, 2012 - The feeling in this Music is courageously palpable. It was a time when the cloud of jaded cynicism and naked power and corporate politics had not yet engulfed us. We need to listen to the People and empower them. I'm a teller of tales and am on the road easing into the seasoned saloons, and erstwhile eateries of this Great Land listening to the People; their fears, their courage, their anger, angst and anxious willingness to still do what is right! Invite me to visit and tell the Story.

altareggo Says:

Feb 15, 2012 - Ahhh.... those were simpler, gentler times - full of hope, and there was SOOOOO much youthful energy flowing as the "boomers" came of age and thought they could change the world. Then around the mid-70s the leading edge of that generation started to settle down into comfortable middle-class lives and the revolution died a slow, cynical death. The times DID change - but not for the better.

Mar 12, 2012 - STFU idiot

jeff62rey Says:

Mar 12, 2012 - Thanks for showing us all your Predatory Corporatistic Troll stripes. Yes, folks here is yet another one who is part of the problem, not the solution. Well, troll, a solution is coming, but I don't think you are going to like it much.

wall8ce Says:

Mar 16, 2012 - The past has again come upon us and the loop (full circle) is almost complete as we now find our lives and standard of living in a reverse cycle....reverting back to the past few of us remember, just as they sung about four decades ago..the times they are a changing

stayalivesweetheart Says:

Apr 14, 2012 - SYNGAR I CANNOT AGREE MORE. I had a 16 year old literally tell me " Oh.You know what a Rasta is? I'm surprised." (listening to Bob Marley). Talk about future social collapse. LMAO.

stepanova8 Says:

May 4, 2012 - The 60's were not perfict. The musicality of the performers was generally better than it is today. Today if you go to a concert there is a heck of a lot of lipsync. You are listening to a recording, and if it is live, there is a lot of autotune. Not all, but most are like that. In the 60's they didn't have that kind of tecnology. It was all live because it had to be. That part WAS better.

SuburbanWhiteBoy4lif Says:

May 12, 2012 - hahahahaha

syngar99 Says:

May 12, 2012 - key word WAS

May 12, 2012 - WOW--some 45+ years ago!I never really took a long look at Mary Travis back then--but, she was attractive (and so very thin).Over time, though...you could see the deterioration in her appearance. ..and this much before her illness (very sad).However--after returning from 'Nam in Aug of '69--I avoided their Concerts. Never able to sit back and enjoy--unless protesting the WarTook to GRATEFUL DEAD Concerts instead--music and more music. And--w/ HELLS ANGELS everpresent, NO PROTESTS!

May 18, 2012 - thumbs up if simpsons brought you here :)

EstablishedOtaku92 Says:

May 21, 2012 - Just because someone is young means he/she can't make a substantive contribution? I don't follow that logic nor do I agree with it. This person made a valid statement and you made a completely uncalled for negative comment. This "junior" clearly has a better, broader view of the world than your narrow minded way of thinking.

syngar99 Says:

May 21, 2012 - Lol, I also can;t take people that call themselves otaku very seriously either. The fact is yes young people can contribute, the reality however is that when young people speak their most authoratatively about things is when they demonstrate their ignorance, lack of expereince and most importantly their lack of perspective. I can not and will not take a 14 yr olds opnion about "how things were" 50 years ago.
