May 26, 2012 - I might agree if you weren't bitching about "mainstream". "Mainstream" doesn't mean anything if you genuinely like someone's music.

May 26, 2012 - How the fuck can Nicki Minaj and her ugly face with her ugly orange hair be next to this video? Fuck the world. Some things just don't make sense haha.

YourBandsSuck Says:

May 27, 2012 - Goes with the "I can change" part of the song. He changes from the beginning as the guy dodging, then starts becoming assertive until people know to get out of his way. Poetic.

May 27, 2012 - really do not agree with nicki minajajejsfefnjen ( misspelled that on purpose) being on the same page as the verve. it was not the best song of the 90s. it was completely over played and kurt writes best songs. but i digress. nicki whatever is not a muscian. suck enough dick in this world and i guess you can go any were. recycled beats and words with no meaning. and you children eat it up.

robertsmith1616 Says:

May 27, 2012 - the verve was a good band though. more or less. its a shame what happened to them. had to make way for....well nothing i guess.

IdiotIncorporated Says:

May 27, 2012 - If that's the point of the video, then it's a pretty shitty analogy for the message of the song. He went from a decent person who has to dodge assholes who won't move to being an asshole who won't move. But the change isn't "People began to respect him and get out of his way" it was people who WEREN'T assholes had to dodge HIM. He walks right into a woman who was grabbing something from her purse, a guy who doesn't see him, & a mom with a baby. Thus, he's become an asshole; not more respected.

grinchychristmas Says:

May 27, 2012 - You're a slave to money, then you die.

Adventurejimbob Says:

May 27, 2012 - I think the idea here is not that he is now an asshole, but more that by becoming just like everyone else, he is showing them the error of their ways by doing it in an exaggerated manner. Matches the idea of the lyrics. There is such a thing as human happiness, but by framing it as the common truth, "You're a slave to money and then you die." they're exaggerating the problem to force us to take a step back (or fall over, as in the video) and think about what we're actually doing with our lives.

turloughohara Says:

May 27, 2012 - I feel yea bro

MsAngelSeven Says:

May 27, 2012 - A música fala sobre o sistema capitalista, que enquadra cada um numa classe, num jeito de ser, e mesmo você tentando ser diferente, você continua no sistema. Ou seja, você não consegue mudar essa moldura capitalista. With the google translator of Portuguese into English: This is dense music talks about the capitalist system, which fits in each class, a way of being, and even you trying to be different, you're still in the system. That is, you can not change the mold capitalist.
