May 19, 2012 - Frogman, it's been an insane last couple of weeks for me...there are brilliant Christ Followers out there..for instance, lead scientist over the Human Genome Project recently converted after reading CS Lewis "Mere Christianity" God and science are not opposed..I can adhere to evolution and be a Jesus follower...you're alot like me in that I can't get rid of Him..He's like breathing to me...no need to. Keep pluggin..Giberson, "Saving Darwin" is awesome a read.

May 19, 2012 - please feel free to email me if you want to hear anymore...I'm too a struggler :) jrietdorf2003@yahoo.com Questioning is necessary. On the other side of all that is something incredible:) Don't ever give up..He's got a hold on ya.

May 20, 2012 - You seen "A Universe from Nothing"? It's actually one of the talks done in this series, by Laurence Krauss. Universe began due to quantum fluctuations, and there was no energy at the beginning of time, because the total energy of the universe is zero. Really good way to spend ~60 mins if ya got the time.
weirddudeonice Says:
May 20, 2012 - You're takinga personification of cells, done for our understanding, far too literally. Cells do not learn. They react. This substance reacts this way when exposed to this because that's how they react chemically, this holds this thing in place because that's where it sits, etc. Simply put, complexity does not mean design.

May 20, 2012 - What realistic scientist, sincerely given to seeking the truth could claim today that while a kidney transplant is the result of centuries of continuous scientific research and experimentation, the structure of the kidney itself reveals no trace of a creative intelligence and will, being the product of mere nature—nature which has no more knowledge or awareness than a kindergarten pupil?
weirddudeonice Says:
May 21, 2012 - Dunno. Maybe almost every biologist ever? Go Google the evolution of the the human kidney. Should have figured you were a Muslim btw, didn't know until I saw the conversation in the "linked comment" section. Good for you accepting science.
hgaddy2 Says:
May 21, 2012 - Ha, ok...I can certainly see how this theory could become widely accepted in the future. I just really don't see why it's amazing to anyone that, at one tiny shred of a fraction of an instant, there was nothing. You're essentially trying to get credit for proving that there was once nothing. Why is that even important to anyone? How could anyone even begin to prove such an outlandish (yet, believable) claim to be true? We all think we know something that no one else knows.
1tabligh Says:
May 21, 2012 - Even if the followers of a religious school of thought had no proofs for their claim, to conclude firmly and forcibly that non- being reigns beyond the sensory realm would be a non-scientific choice, based on imagination and speculation.
zoolady123 Says:
May 22, 2012 - THANK YOU! I'm so grateful to live in a time when we non-theists are ''coming out'' in record numbers, finding support and fellowship and creating our own "culture." DOWN WITH SUPERSTITION....UP WITH EDUCATION!

May 23, 2012 - Thats wilful god delusion , how would you feel if i was pushing my flying pig delusion on the world and its children ?
beatnikish Says:
May 23, 2012 - Wow, a lot of great data here. Thanks!
frogman360 Says:
May 23, 2012 - I am not pushing my beliefs on anyone. moving on.....
legomastr1 Says:
May 24, 2012 - the only good thing that can come of that is that people actually SEE the perpetual denial and lose their faith because of how ignorant it is. we see that happening as we speak
weirddudeonice Says:
May 24, 2012 - That's not what we've concluded. For some specific deities, yes, but not against all of them in general. Understand what you're arguing with.
ash lee Says:
May 25, 2012 - you already seem to know that you believe in god solely because you WANT to believe in it and cling to it to give your life "the meaning you desire" basically you understand that your belief is based on nothing but wishful thinking. that means you are already seeing the artifice behind your belief. randomness isn't as scary as you think. it's actually better to accept that randomness causes natural disasters that kill thousands rather than thinking that God is killing people on purpose.
netsight Says:
May 25, 2012 - 29:46 "Abstract semantics and imagery" = imagination, which is the only way people can picture or perceive God. If asked to visualize God why do most of you picture some old long bearded man dressed in robes who looks like some wise shepherd from antiquity? Interesting indeed.
macgeek2004 Says:
May 25, 2012 - Ok...if you're SO certian of this, can you tell me what happened BEFORE the big bang? Scientists are currently working on this as we speak. ;~P lol!And furthermore, wait a minute...you mean THE "Genesis account of Creation?" The "let there be light and *click*, there was light," Genesis account of creation? *THIS* Genesis account of Creation (copypasta courtesy of wikipedia)???
macgeek2004 Says:
May 25, 2012 - "First day: Light is commanded to appear ("Let there be light!") The light is divided from the darkness, and they are named "day" and "night".[Gen 1:3]Second day: God makes a firmament ("Let a firmament be...!")—the second command—to divide the waters above from the waters below. The firmament is named "skies".[Gen 1:6--7]Third day: God commands the waters below to be gathered together in one place, and dry land to appear (the third command)."earth" and "sea" are named.
macgeek2004 Says:
May 25, 2012 - Still on the Third day: God commands the earth to bring forth grass, plants, and fruit-bearing trees (the fourth command).[Gen 1:9--10]Fourth day: God puts lights in the firmament (the fifth command) to separate light from darkness and to mark days, seasons and years. Two great lights are made to appear (most likely the Sun and Moon, but not named), and the stars.[Gen 1:14--15]Fifth day: God commands the sea to "teem with living creatures", and birds to fly across the heavens (sixth command);
macgeek2004 Says:
May 25, 2012 - Still on the Fifth day: he creates the "great sea creatures" and the creatures of the sea and the birds according to their kinds.[Gen 1:20--21]Sixth day: God commands the land to bring forth living creatures (seventh command);[Gen 1:24--25] He makes wild beasts, livestock and reptiles. He then creates humanity in His "image" and "likeness" (eighth command). They are commanded to "be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it."
macgeek2004 Says:
May 25, 2012 - So yeah, HOW IN THE FUCK is the Big Bang _*NOT*_ in conflict with the Genesis account of Creation again?????Sorry. Just...needed to ask that. lol!
macgeek2004 Says:
May 25, 2012 - @34:35Um...really? Wait...woah...WOAH...OK, so at first I was gonna say, "Um...really? People can actually "fall in love with God" in the same way that one...falls in love with a soulmate, say? *Really*...??? People...acutally DO that?!? LOL!!! I mean...WOW! That's...special. Those poor deluded people...," but then I thought, "Well, wait a minute. Don't people do REALLY crazy things for those that they lov-......!!!! OMG! Those people..could be...driven to...do...*ANYTHING*! PASSIONATELY! :O
1tabligh Says:
May 26, 2012 - Some people try to propagate this *fantasy* in the garb of science and to present their choice as having been dictated by scientific thought. In the final analysis, however, the denial involved in such an assertion is unworthy of science and philosophy, and even *contradicts* empirical logic.
youmad2bro Says:
May 26, 2012 - When all else fails, study with Jehovah's Witnesses.

1tabligh Says:
May 18, 2012 - Is it at all possible that the cells of the body should learn their functions, pursue their aim in a precise and orderly fashion, and crystallize so miraculously in the world of being, without there being a conscious and powerful being to instruct them? Is it not rather the case that phenomena such as these prove and demonstrate, with the utmost emphasis, the need for a plan, a design, a guiding hand inspired by conscious will?
