I seen hime live a few days ago...it was just great to hear that voice and see him up on stage and then shake his hand.. ( I went and got a beer when the gospel songs came on - no disrespect) but I was there to hear the hits...of a 5 Grammy award winner...beautiful.

He has likely been otherwise abused by society too, such as by DOMA (the Defense of Marriage Act in the U.S.), which the IRS uses to deny him the tax provisions straight married couples enjoy - like inheritance taxes being deferred until the second person dies. Dec 31, 2010 - Whenever I hear BJ Thomas sing it takes me back to a happy carefree time in my life... I could listen to him for hours. I know that artists always want to do something new - to keep growing - but these are songs that are so perfect, so complete that there is no need for "more". Thank you BJ Thomas for a sound that is forever in my heart.
