I am an Indian and very proud to be one. Yes, Indians were brought to South Africa as slaves (or indentured labor) but today their descendents are doctors, lawyers, engineers and businessmen. They have done very well for themselves and that IS something to be really proud of.

And they were not slaves, they were indentured for 5 years of labor during which they were paid.... conditions were still pretty bad tho :(
