Title: GOOD: The Hidden Cost of War
Added: Sep 22, 2008
Author: GOODMagazine
Duration: 2:40
Description:
http://good.is/In 2003 Donald Rumsfeld estimated a war with Iraq would cost $60 billion. Five years later, the cost of Iraq war operations is over 10 times that figure. So what's behind the ballooning dollar signs? Joseph E. Stiglitz and Linda J. Bilme's exhaustedly researched book, "The Three Trillion Dollar War: The True Cost of the Iraq Conflict," breaks down the price tag, from current debts to the unseen costs we'll pay for years to come.

Nov 6, 2011 - A referendum, anyone who voted NO nothing happens, those who vote yes have to sign a contract saying that they have to pay for it.I guarantee the war would end tomorrow if that happened

skippy999999 Says:
Dec 16, 2011 - I like how people who say that these wars have made them waste alot of money, forget that the money back in oil (Iraq) covers up the cost of all these operations with interest. That's the thing the people keep forgetting, America isn't in debt because of wars, America is in debt because retarded Americans have been living beyond their capabilities (credit cards etc). I guarantee you that the oil that was sucked dry out of Iraq probably covered up the expenses of 30 years of war to come.
Brainrevolution Says:
Dec 23, 2011 - So you say that it's legitimate for the US to wage war on a country that never threatened them, nor did any direct harm to the US citizens. And it's ok to do so, because they'll get the money back from the oil that they're STEALING from the iraqi people? So basically if China was to attack the US it would be justified by the fact that the Chinese would get their money back by stealing US oil?I mean, what the fuck
skippy999999 Says:
Dec 23, 2011 - I never said it was legit, all im saying is that they are not losing any money...

Feb 18, 2012 - America has presented a bill for a division of Balcohistan a province of Pakistan today. I have not seen coverage of that on westren media, maybe tommorow. They are trying to start a WW3, not good for the world or the US economy. Iraq= 2.2 trillion Dollars.Pakistan+ Taliban+Mujahedein+Nukes+freedom fighters= ??? You know where we are heading.PLEASE SAVE AMERICA AND THE WORLD.

Mar 4, 2012 - 3 trillion is a lot...but over how long? 3 trillion in one year is astonishing, but 3 trillion between 2003 and, say, 2023 is a pittance.
NortheastGamer Says:
Mar 16, 2012 - You do realize that "America" is not a single entity right? One portion can go in debt while another portion profits. For instance:The government borrows 21 trillion dollars from a foreign country and then buys weapons from a company within the states.America is now in debt to the country, but the American company profited 21 trillion dollars...Makes sense now?
Gravolux Says:
Mar 31, 2012 - I want to live on Mars. :'(
