Mar 28, 2012 - 1:24 he doesent grab the clutch to switch gears !!
loopyboopoo1 Says:
Mar 29, 2012 - yes he does. i have my bike set up the same exact way, you should really only have to tap your clutch in only about 1-3 centimeters depending on your style to switch gears. im 16 and did my first bike with hat set-up and still run it now, if you own a bike give it a try and see how to you like it. just dont get it too loose or tight and youll be fine.good luck
mx125ful Says:
Mar 30, 2012 - yes ill give it a try but that wont wear the clutch out im 11 ive got a 125 pitbike
loopyboopoo1 Says:
Apr 1, 2012 - i didn't say it would wear your clutch out though?? and ive got the same thing its a lifan 125cc pitbike, also i own a 2004 kx250f and a 2011 kx450f all run the pretty much same set-up except for a few things. the pitbike like you just said can be a little tricky to get into the right clutch tension but after you get it and use it, a normal clutch set-up is so much different

Apr 14, 2012 - its because of the rekluse clutch
bluebunny102 Says:
Apr 15, 2012 - not too burst your bubble but motorcycles can be shifted without the clutch and he did right there. I personally never use the clutch shifting gears on the start as clutch less is faster and more precise.
loopyboopoo1 Says:
Apr 15, 2012 - well i never said they couldnt, but shifting without clutching only wears out your clutch faster, shaves your gears, and leaves alot on metal in you oil. personally i will never shift without a clutch unless i absolutely have to
bluebunny102 Says:
Apr 16, 2012 - Who told you that it wears anything. Motorcycles have constant mess transmissions which means in a nut shell that every gear is moving and as such can move into any gear at any time. I would not recommend slamming into first at high speeds but you should get the idea. I have race buddies who never use the clutch and had their bike run fine for 5 years. No issues at all. No slipping all gear were solid as well. Shifting with a clutch is required in cars, but bikes are a different story.
