Apr 7, 2012 - One of my Lady Day favorites. On happy, joyful songs she could sound as upbeat and perky as the best of 'em. After all even a sad life as we may see it has more than one dimension. It was on songs of longing, lament and heartache however where she was at her best. When she sang these songs she was able to wrench every possible ounce of pathos out of a lyric. Even more than the composer or other singers realized was there I might add. Bless you Miss Eleanora!
