Description:
Vampire Weekend covers Radiohead's Exit Music (For A Film) for Stereogum's OK Computer tribute album. For listening purposes only.Wake... from your sleepThe drying of your tearsToday.. we escapeWe escape.Pack and get dressedBefore your father hears usBefore.. all hell.. breaks loose.Breathe... keep breathingDon't lose.. your nerve.Breathe... keep breathingI can't do this.. alone.Sing us a songA song to keep us warmThere's such a chillSuch a CHILL.You can laughA spineless laughWe hope your rules and wisdom choke youNow we are oneIn everlasting peaceWe hope that you choke.. that you chokeWe hope that you choke.. that you chokeWe hope that you choke.. that you choke

Dec 26, 2011 - I've never been much of a VW fan, and I started watching this video assuming it would be really bad. But it's realllly not, it's reallly good

waldocalvinhobbes Says:

Dec 30, 2011 - I quite liked until the build-up to the climax. The drum beat from 2:22- 2:50 just seemed awkward and felt as though it did not belong.

bombast07 Says:

Jan 4, 2012 - They completely destroyed a classic. They sucked all of the dreary soul of the original and made it sound like something on the Lion King soundtrack.

SX55555blueredgreen Says:

Jan 5, 2012 - Just to add my opinion as a Radiohead fan: I didn't like it. Beginning was off time and awkward. Middle drum solo equally off time and awkward. It's not that I'm biased but musically, Radiohead is much better. I don't dislike VW, I just think that it's rhythmically awkward.

spiderpunk100 Says:

Jan 9, 2012 - I love both Radiohead and Vampire Weekend, and i think this is an interesting cover. They obviously covered it because they liked the song, otherwise why would they want to sing it?! And i seriously doubt they're trying to outdo Radiohead! At the end of the day, i do prefer the original, for what it is. But i don't dislike this version.

Jan 14, 2012 - I didn't like it beiether, but it's not off time xD

chatterboxch Says:

Jan 21, 2012 - go take a drum lesson

pwebsers Says:

Jan 21, 2012 - I liked that they tried to make it their own, and I think some good ideas went into this, particularly the flutes playing the ghost choir part. I still like the original better, i think the drums in this version kind of ruined it for me.

keleraba123 Says:

Jan 24, 2012 - but not only one

digitellove Says:

Jan 28, 2012 - for all of you made uncomfortable by the awkward drum beats, listen to Cousins by Vamp. it's what they do.

TheSim1derful Says:

Jan 29, 2012 - I liked this better than the original, interestingly enough. Obviously Radiohead get full cred since they WROTE the song, but Vampire Weekend made it more enjoyable, IMO. The original just didn't inspire any emotion in me.

StenoticGlobal Says:

Feb 3, 2012 - THIS IS FUCKING HORRIBLE, THESE FUCKING HIPSTER PIECES OF SHIT AND THEIR ENCOURAGING FANS NEED TO KNOW THAT THEY ARE NOT COOL ENOUGH TO RUIN A CLASSIC LIKE THIS

Lutoniro Says:

Feb 8, 2012 - They re-created a classic, it's called creativity, you might not have it but it actually exists. Stop being so close-minded, this is a tribute, not a competition, show some respect. PS. Lion King Soundtrack is great

jeezmeg Says:

Feb 13, 2012 - FRICKIN' HIGH OFF OF THIS SONG!

castrophist Says:

Feb 17, 2012 - not a fan of this version

TheDeepThinkingDoll Says:

Feb 18, 2012 - I love Radiohead and Vampire Weekend immensely. My favorite band of all time is Radiohead however. This version is a prefect cover though because they weren't trying to "out-do" or "one-up" radiohead, they were just giving their own spice to the flavor. Good job Vampire Weekend.

transer1337 Says:

Feb 20, 2012 - First, I have to say that Radiohead's version is my absolute favorite song of all time. I was not a huge fan of this cover, but nice try. It's not horrible, but it just doesn't hold a candle to the original. I'm not sure why so many people are up in arms about it though. If I could play music, I would record my own version of this song too. @TheSim1derful You're entitled to your opinion, but to me Radiohead's version absolutely bursts with emotion.

13dirty666 Says:

Feb 28, 2012 - this is how to cover radiohead, its a sad song but they made it fun and danceable. I love the original but this cover gives it a run for the money. Those drums are brilliant. And to all die-hard radiohead fans who cant stand anybody covering radiohead please stop. You are making fools of yourselves

lalitolennonxD Says:

Mar 5, 2012 - like!!!!!! @13dirty666 vampire weekend rocks!!!!!!!!!

taquitozz Says:

Mar 26, 2012 - No..

TheTrumanShow99 Says:

Mar 30, 2012 - @digitallove Being unable to grasp time signatures is not a "style". They butchered this song. Anyone can sing over a poorly produced drum loop. There is no creativity here.

HangingJustChilling Says:

Apr 7, 2012 - Radiohead is my favorite band, but mad respect to Vampire Weekend for not butchering this song

Cinnamon2814 Says:

Apr 19, 2012 - Its a good cover, they didn't butcher it, but i think that it was no where close to give it a run for its money, but i could definitely listen to it again.

TheIgothacked Says:

Apr 26, 2012 - Haha queers xDRadiohead ftw!

arapsasuga Says:

May 26, 2012 - those violins.... suggest wealth
