May 12, 2012 - I love this song and love Alison...but i am an atheist...guess i am just a lover of good music.

ADDMOREMAPS Says:

May 12, 2012 - By the way i did not look up "christian music" This is bluegrass..and damned good too. I am a Humanist and i also like rap,classical,rock,country,etc.etc. You dont have to subscribe to 'so called" "christian' values to listen to good gospel music....

ADDMOREMAPS Says:

May 12, 2012 - There is no god. But of course i cant convince you of that because you are a "believer" and your belief is not based on facts but rather a NEED to believe......

thecandijedi Says:

May 12, 2012 - this actually was a hymn created WAY before the movie came out. but its nice to see that this is a universal song to people (:

mrgriffitz1 Says:

May 12, 2012 - u have no idea what ur talking about. this is a very old gospel song.

sammytlange Says:

May 13, 2012 - Take a look at the wikipedia article regarding this song. It was written a long time before O Brother Where Art Thou was made. The writer, Albert E. Brumley, according to the wikipedia article, has been described as the "pre-eminent gospel songwriter" of the 20th century, and this song is a distinctly christian song. I realize that for someone who does not believe that Jesus Christ is the creator and ruler of all that is, this might be a frustrating thing to acknowledge, but it is what it is.

May 14, 2012 - I would love to find a good church that still sang these good ole songs that I came with. The last church I was in, I didn't even know the first song. The message was very good though.

PrivateSchemers1 Says:

May 15, 2012 - The answer's simple. Just because I don't believe in God doesn't mean I can't listen to good music.

kwantoon Says:

May 15, 2012 - Although I'm not a religious person in any way, I still enjoy songs like these. So many of these old hymns are so heartfelt and moving, it can't help but be a great song. I grew up in a Christian family and this stuff is a big part of who I am. I may not necessarily believe in the religion, but I do believe in the spiritual effect it has on most people. Had it not been for Christianity, I probably wouldn't have the morals I have.

bvp121 Says:

May 15, 2012 - Well maybe they are watching it because it is a good song or because it was in a great movie.

thecandijedi Says:

May 15, 2012 - you my love are very smart! hahaha you have more patience than I, I dont have patience for stubborn people c:

The91hawk Says:

May 15, 2012 - They come to try and get a rise out of people. You just gave them exactly what they want. Ignore them, and you disarm them.

0623rachel Says:

May 17, 2012 - i love this...and by the way Jesus Christ is My LORD and savior!!!!!

Sammi Jade Says:

May 18, 2012 - This Was My Daddy's Favorite Song.(:

wobbledobbleish Says:

May 18, 2012 - Music is music. O brother was a great movie and like all movies that showcase great music, they attract the attention of all people regardless of religious or cultural background. Albeit, this doesn't justify the comments against Christians in the video's comments section, your comment is a bit condescending as well. Anyway, like I said music and music so no need to discuss anything further besides this song. Cheers to all.

jmd92087 Says:

LKeet6 Says:

May 27, 2012 - I am a strict atheist and i absolutely LOVE this song. It is heart-achingly beautiful.music should rise above arguments about beliefs and stuff. I view this as a song that represents a time. Poor people living in rural parts of america trying to bring joy into their lives.

myrtle462 Says:
