May 14, 2012 - Quote by Richard Dawkins himself: "on a scale from 1-7 on atheism, i am just a 6.9. it is unwise for any scientist to commit himself to saying it is DEFINITELY right, which no one can. I cannot really commit myself to saying there are no fairies. now I'm pretty sure there are not fairies but i think it would be unscientific to do what the extreme religious people to and say I know there is a god. I can't say i know there is a god or not, so i think i am a 6.9." just tell me if you dont know wha

DoroteoVilla Says:

May 16, 2012 - Not this guy again! You can't swing a dead cat and not hit Richard Dawkins bloviating about God being dead. What an existence it must be to at best, be the asshole that goes around telling everyone there's no Santa Claus. That's just being a dick...oh, but he has a British accent so he must be right. He's a righteous dick.

chrisinsocalif Says:

May 17, 2012 - Take an evolutionary biology class, things will make much more sense and not spew such nonsense.

cr0uchingtiger Says:

May 17, 2012 - Dawkins NEEDS to take DMT.

StonersOath Says:

May 17, 2012 - uhh i have at HCC.. seriously they have a few good points but if you hear the other side of the argument they have the same good points that you cant deny.

run4urmony Says:

May 18, 2012 - So everyone else can go around saying there's a god but he can't say the opposite? Exactly.

FAVREandREDD Says:

May 19, 2012 - You think he is an asshole, at least he doesn't go around telling everyone that Santa has rules for them to follow, and if a person fails to follow said rules they will be tortured forever in the south pole by one of Santa's estranged elves. At least Dawkins does not make laws based on Santa's teachings so even people who do not believe in him have their rights striped from them because it said so in a really old book. Ur the righteous DICK! Go read a fucking book other than the bible DUMBASS!

DoroteoVilla Says:

May 19, 2012 - @FAVREandREDD. Tsk,tsk, tsk. "God does not play with dice" and "I want to know God's thoughts" that was said by one of the most brilliant men in history, a man's whose shoe laces this hack Dawkins isn't fit to tye. Albert Einstein.

DoroteoVilla Says:

May 19, 2012 - A belief in God is in no way indicative of low or high IQ, Favre fan. My beef with Dawkins is that he seems determined to take a part of humanity that like it or not, has been the part of the basis of human enlightment, yes, enlightment. In the end, he believes there is only one god, himself.

donnyhubbard Says:

May 19, 2012 - I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it. (Albert Einstein, 1954) Doro, Al's god was science, not a personal god that gives you what you ask for. I dare say you are not fit to make a determination on the intellect on Mr. Dawkins.

donnyhubbard Says:

May 19, 2012 - Although a belief in god may not be indicative of intellect, it could well be indicative of sanity.

Ematched Says:

May 19, 2012 - @DoroteoVilla You are patently ignorant. To Einstein, "God" was the word for the fabric of the universe. It is, at best, a deistic position. His collected writings, however, make it clear that he did not believe in god(s). The word was merely metaphorical. You're clearly not fit to read Einstein's words, much less quote them.

DoroteoVilla Says:

May 19, 2012 - "In view of such harmony in the cosmos which I, with my limited human mind, am able to recognize, there are yet people who say there is no God. But what really makes me angry is that they quote me for the support of such views." Albert Einstein. I may be patently ignorant, I wont deny I am only a cork in the sea just like anyone, including all of you. Dawkins is a hack. I don't need his SAT scorea to prove it though.

papaguytube Says:

May 20, 2012 - @DoroteoVilla nice try, but that's an indirect quite that someone said Einstein said. What Einstein actually wrote was: "It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly."

papaguytube Says:

May 20, 2012 - Prince Hubertus, listening to Einstein in Einstein's second language, which was the Prince's third language, then quoted by the Prince ten years later in his second language to a third party that translated it into English... The reporter was none other than Roger Soucek the devout Christian Scientist Editor, it's hardly evidence of Einstein being religious. Stick to what Einstein wrote and acknowledged if you want to quote him, thank you.

DoroteoVilla Says:

May 21, 2012 - @papaguytube - It is clear that neither of us took down his quite directly but I will simpy assert that most of the most celebrated men in science did in fact believe in God: Coppernicus, Descartes, Newton, Bacon, etc. Dawkins is asserting (the God delusion) that there is no God. He is a scientist, right? When did he prove it? How? His assertion implies that he has a better explanation. A unified theory? A new law? Where is it? What is it called? Evolution I suppose is what he is clinging to. E

DoroteoVilla Says:

May 21, 2012 - If this is the case than that particular argument falls apart on its own merits. Evolution has neither been proven nor does it necessarily disprove God. I contend that Dawkins, Hitchens, Russell are invested in refuting God for reasons other than scientific ones. I would assert unicorns dont exist. I go about my life with nary a thought to unicorns and I certainly dont write books about their non-existence. Dawkins does however- why? I contend its because he wants to be God. He wants it in thi

DoroteoVilla Says:

May 21, 2012 - No one would deny him that right however, be prepared to present it as such. Also, be prepared to argue to the case and he has staked his claim on scientific grounds. His answer is evolution but in the procesa he claims "ipso-facto, no God". Not so fast. He doesn't merely want a world without God for himself, he wants to relegate people of faith as a relic of the dark ages, a segment of society to be mocked and persecuted. He is no different than a Torquemada, in this respect.

chrisinsocalif Says:

May 22, 2012 - The other side has unsupported assumptions, not claims backed by evidence. Evolution is supported by tons of evidence.

StonersOath Says:

May 22, 2012 - i have done research on evidence for evolution but not the biased way. I look at what both sides have to offer. All i know for a fact is its impossible for something to happen from nothing..the big bang? where did the molecules come from to make such an explosion? and yeah your answer to that is "well where did God come from?" well at least christianity provides us an answer to where everything came from and evolution/atheism does not. Were were obviously 100% created...but by who or what?

SidgoJojojo Says:

May 22, 2012 - That doesn't sound like reazoning, by that standard, why staying with classic religious answer??, id say we come from god's sneeze, and you won't belive that, but what makes it different from the christian answer? It's an answer right? Well.. nothing, we neither have a proof, not even the science has a solid one, but I humbling rather say "I don't know, but i'll find out" than arrogantly say "I know, i've always know and its the only truth"... truth doesn't care what we belive in, it just is.

iamdragonborn Says:

May 22, 2012 - took the words right out of my mouth

raymondsutcliffe001 Says:

May 26, 2012 - I was taught about evolution at school. I found it so easy to understand that I thought the whole thing utterly OBVIOUS!
