Title: The Known Universe by AMNH
Added: Dec 15, 2009
Author: AMNHorg
Duration: 6:31
Description:
The Known Universe takes viewers from the Himalayas through our atmosphere and the inky black of space to the afterglow of the Big Bang. Every star, planet, and quasar seen in the film is possible because of the world's most complete four-dimensional map of the universe, the Digital Universe Atlas that is maintained and updated by astrophysicists at the American Museum of Natural History. The new film, created by the Museum, is part of an exhibition, Visions of the Cosmos: From the Milky Ocean to an Evolving Universe, at the Rubin Museum of Art in Manhattan through May 2010. Feb 10, 2012 - You need to put this song as back track -Trentemøller- Miss You. It makes the video one hell of a trip.
Premier1ize Says:
Feb 10, 2012 - if there are billions of stars in our galaxy and at least one planet orbiting each of these stars, surely there must be other life forms out there on one of these planets. Another thing, if our galaxy is going to collapse on its self in years to come, surely we must explore outside our own galaxy as well, if we do not we are doomed.
boxingisbest Says:
Feb 10, 2012 - And in time? what the hell is that supposed to mean? the entire universe we live in is always in the same moment. If im on our planet and another guy is on a distant planet on the other side of the universe we are still living in the same moment just not the same place
kundarvankumar Says:
Feb 10, 2012 - I am feeling spontaneous ectsatic love for God after watching this video.......Those ecstasies are like uncontrolled spontaneous volcanic eruptions of love for God.Hari Hari...

Feb 10, 2012 - Scientists say there could be life on one of Jupiter's moons under its frozen lake.
enigmaPL Says:
Feb 10, 2012 - @kundarvankumar God? Are you for real? Get the ridiculous notion of a god out of your head, and get real, if you can't then please kill yourself, such deluded retards are no longer wanted on this planet, religious people are restraint on the evolution of mankind

Feb 10, 2012 - for 4 d vision smoke pot now.
RCosmo94 Says:
Feb 10, 2012 - @enigmaPL Sounds like you need something better to do with your life instead of spending your time attacking someones beliefs.
composure40 Says:
Feb 10, 2012 - Aww, you mean that hi-score I got in tetris isn't important?
TeamApparition Says:
Feb 10, 2012 - @enigmaPL I'm an atheist and I think you should kill yourself. Let people believe what they want to believe.
TpendragonT Says:
Feb 11, 2012 - @boxingisbest Any light we see is very very old. So the light we are seeing is from a time long ago.
AndreasSku93 Says:
Feb 11, 2012 - @enigmaPL I'd rather have religious people than dicks like you on this planet
LiamCrowley1990 Says:
Feb 11, 2012 - @boxingisbest That is absolutely not true.
whatevtube Says:
Feb 11, 2012 - @Modicum00Fault Except that everything is meaningless given enough relative scale. So, things in your life, relatively, are very important.
kevlarman7 Says:
Feb 11, 2012 - You just feel so very insignificant... it's enough to blow the mind away.
2dFlight Says:
Feb 11, 2012 - @andmiklar WE NEED SOMETHING TO SLOW US DOWN!!! we're already TOO FAST!!!
hackajim Says:
Feb 11, 2012 - I have a great idea... one of the current incredible methods for measuring distance to nearby objects is 'parallax', using the earth on one side of the sun to look at an object, and then 6 months later when the earth is on the other side of the sun, comparing the two angles. why not use Jupiter's parallax to make it more accurate?
hackajim Says:
Feb 11, 2012 - @kundarvankumar it is kinda ridiculous to think that you can communicate with the bacteria's in your bowels.... or that they can communicate back. get my drift?
NotJames1 Says:
Feb 11, 2012 - @hackajim you have the money to fund a project to build a few satellites orbiting Jupiter :p
NotJames1 Says:
Feb 11, 2012 - @boxingisbest take a course in special relativity. It's possible for two events to be simultaneous when moving one way, but not simultaneous going another way
boxingisbest Says:
Feb 11, 2012 - @NotJames1 So you are saying two cars that move in different directions are not present in this universe at the same moment?
NotJames1 Says:
Feb 11, 2012 - @diegolabrada yeah why not? Everyone judges themselves all the time. Something you did or thought etc...
NotJames1 Says:
Feb 11, 2012 - @boxingisbest This videos pretty could at explaining itwatch?v=wteiuxyqtoM:-)
