May 10, 2008 - Youtube terminated my old account because of a copyright, but not because of this song. I'm sure there are copyrights, but I wanted to match the song with the pictures. Fortunately Janis Ian never complaints, she's very tolerant concerning making videos with her music.

May 10, 2008 - I happen to know that Janis loves this video. It would be the Holocaust Museum (Yad Vashem? Washington?)or wherever you got the images that might be the problem I thought. But I'm delighted that it's back. You can imagine what this song means to some of us. Thanks for posting.

Feb 25, 2009 - Saw Janis on I believe Letterman in 1995 and she did this song off her Breaking Silence CD - ran right out the next day and bought it - entire CD is awesome!

Nov 18, 2009 - I lost everyone of my relatives in the holocaust except my great grandmother. A few of my relatives came here to the u.s. I can't stop crying when I see this video. Why must we hate people?

Oct 1, 2010 - Very few songwriters have the power to bring a titanic issue such as this into the cramped and explosive medium of a song. I love the video and the way it makes a kind of monument of the words. The images don't try to tell the story, they represent people, the bad as well as the good. The truth of the holocaust contains many myths, not least that all who died were saints and all who killed were devils. It is a huge and terrifying story, so often told in oversimplification. May 10, 2008 - I'm delighted to see this back again. It was removed for a while - I presume you ran into copyright issues with some of the images? This is one of Janis Ian's most moving songs (which is saying something). I can hardly bear to listen to it, especially accompanied by these images of happy innocent people who were annhilated. What fragile things are human life and civilization itself!
