Apr 20, 2012 - Lol, Not saying it is impossible for an asteroid to form a stable orbit. Just not Apothis. Honestly I would love for something like that to happen.

Apr 20, 2012 - Hell yeah. He has a very good way with an audience and I'm glad he is involved in science.

Apr 21, 2012 - It's more like have two magents with different polarity, They attract each other, just one is escaping another one and drags it towards itself :)

May 9, 2012 - funny if the asteroid strikes and is the mark of the end of the American era by destroying our biggest state economy and the beginning of the Chinese hegemony proper...

May 9, 2012 - funny if it happens before then.
MBJH17isbackonlyone Says:
May 13, 2012 - Send multiple nukes to the asteroid. Don't blow it up just make it blow the nuke near it and take it out it's orbit.
Amigo21189 Says:
May 17, 2012 - To further his "little bit" of change in Apophis' path with grav towing, a baseball analogy: Just 1 degree off of the correct course from first base to home plate (90 feet) away is 7 feet from the catcher's glove. Now expand this to fit with making an asteroid miss the Earth while it's still millions of miles away. You don't even have to make it miss by a single degree!
sinfulend2 Says:
May 17, 2012 - Explosions don't work like you think they do in a vaccum
MBJH17isbackonlyone Says:
May 17, 2012 - Actually, you won't hear the sound of it, but it would still send a massive force to pull the asteroid out of its orbit.
