May 21, 2012 - Meredith had no right to bring a gun to a rock concert. The Hell's Angels could have just forced the gun out of his hand & brought him to the ground. The HA's were just trying to protect people, but went to far. The stabbing wasn't necessary - the HA's knew how to fight without killing, but so many fans & HA's were high and/or drunk, it was hard not get out of control. Too bad - that should have been a great happening.

In this situation, many people defend the violent criminals who murdered Hunter - regardless of his guilt or not. If Meredith Hunter had been a white man, and the violent criminals had been black, I think people would have a different take on things.

May 27, 2012 - As someone that has worked security at a rowdy show, a big group of drugged out yahoos can be incredibly unnerving, even more so with a crowd that size. HA's behavior notwithstanding, you can't run frantically towards the front of a crowd with a gun pulled and not get taken out. And you can't run towards a hells angel with a gun and expect to live. Flip side of course is that hunter could have been unarmed running towards the stage and probably would've been stabbed anyways.

Anyway, they claim the Stones had previously used the British chapter of the Hell's Angels to provide security at a Hyde Park (I bet that's in England, huh?) concert where everything had gone really well and so figured the California chapter could be counted on to do as well - or not?
