Description:
Many people are upset i disabled comments on this video. i suppose in the past i said the reason why i disabled them wrong. looking back on it now the real reason i disabled them is because it was turning into a very huge, tiring fued against christians and atheists. and some people (and no not just atheists) were becoming very mean-spirited and disrespectful. I get a whole lot of comments on my videos which i'm always behind on. and it was becoming too tiring to keep up with so finally i just disabled comments, this is the only video i've had to do that.As far as the video content, its not meant to be taken in offense. Mark is just voicing his opinion on the matter, and he does it in comedic way that if you really know him you'll know certain things he says arent meant to be taken literally and besides take a look at how often christians are made fun of. Nobody is forcing you to watch and making personal attacks against me is not going to help you any. Mark does not mean to offend anyone, and neither do I. My choice to disable the comments was my way of trying to end the bickering with everybody, not just atheists, and nothing more. I do not mind people voicing their opinions even if they are different than my own. But it is possible to voice your opinion without being disrespectful to others and a lot of people in the comments didnt seem to get that.

Feb 9, 2009 - It's not a cop-out, it's logically true. I'll prove it. In order to prove something doesn't exist, one would need to search every micron of the universe and find no trace of the thing in question. In order to prove something exists, one only needs to find ONE example (not evidence, one example). I notice you didn't even bother trying to prove unicorns don't exist. Kinda hard, eh?Also, I never stated a theological preference. Please don't assume. I'm merely pointing out a logical fallacy.

Feb 9, 2009 - uh, hey, I'm cool with the video and all. I'm an atheist myself but...if you're wrong you lose to. You will have wasted your whole life, the only life you have, believing in nothing.Mind you, believe that if it's good for you. I dug the whole plunger bit, as much as I rip on toilet humor. Of particular note is the "Doesn't stop me from having an opinion." bit. Awesome. Now, of course, the whole "I've never had one in my home" thing offended me but what's good comedy if not offensive?
AlexKincaid Says:
Feb 9, 2009 - Ahahaha! I love the little kid looking at her thumb. Awesome. Just awesome.
hoover4000 Says:
Feb 9, 2009 - The thing I believe in is not nothing, and I haven't wasted any of my life. I've been on the other side of it, where I wasn't a christian and I was wondering if God was even real and so coming from someone who has seen both sides of it, I am much happier now that I have something to believe in. My life has much more meaning now and I find I have more compassion and sensitivity than I did before. It's not all about me, it's about something greater. When i'm depressed, I have hope to move on.
AlexKincaid Says:
Feb 9, 2009 - It's a hypothetical. IF god doesn't exist. I don't know if he does. I've seen no reason to suggest he does. Oh, and I forgot to respond to your other claim. It IS up to you to present the evidence for god. The default position on any claim is disbelief, otherwise why don't you believe in zues or vishna? You say something is true, you have to show us why.Keep up with your faith though. Obviously, it's important to you and has helped you out. That's a good thing for you.

Feb 9, 2009 - I'm a atheist, and I think he is a funny, nice man. However, it's nice, funny guys like him, who are so content with life as it is that stop us for ever truly answering that question.

Feb 11, 2009 - I'm also atheist and am not offended at all. He's seems like a sweet man.
vincelevi001 Says:
Feb 11, 2009 - This was pretty funny, but I kind of disliked that he was preaching to the crowd. Still funny, though."I've never had one in my home", hilarious!
TheNextTurn Says:
Feb 12, 2009 - Atheist as wellGood comedyTired old argumentBut he was funny
JodaSFU Says:
Feb 12, 2009 - I don't get offended, but I'm not an American. I think, the reason American atheists are so much on their marks about criticism is that they're the least respected group in the US. I can fully understand that reaction.
royalcoat1 Says:
Feb 12, 2009 - lol!! "instant charismatic..STOP!!"
hoover4000 Says:
Feb 12, 2009 - i kind of disagree. I think that christians are the most disrespected
npowell013 Says:
Feb 13, 2009 - "No, I don't know that atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered as patriots. This is one nation under God." -George H.W. BushWhen the christians can claim a U.S. President said they are not real Americans, you can tell me they are less respected than atheists. There was a study/survey that concluded that atheists are the minority least likely to be elected to high political office.Questioning is not the same thing as disrespect, friend.
hoover4000 Says:
Feb 13, 2009 - thats from george bush, not a very good example. everyone knows he's.....well, anyway. But when it comes to America in general, christians have the short end of the stick i believe
JodaSFU Says:
Feb 13, 2009 - Not according to the polls, as far as I've been able to gather. On YouTube, however, I agree, that fundamentalist Christians are the least respected, although not Christians in general.
joeyjoejoe99 Says:
Feb 13, 2009 - LOL. considering 75% of americans are christian, how can u be serious...Thats like saying white are disrespected compared to... any other race.
hoover4000 Says:
Feb 13, 2009 - "religious people" are very looked down on now a days. "bible thumpers" is the most commonly used term. And I dont agree that 75% percent is Christian. Just because you've been to church before or believe that there may be a higher being doesn't automatically mean you are a Christian
Mitsuraga Says:
Feb 13, 2009 - It's not about belief, rather knowledge.
npowell013 Says:
Feb 13, 2009 - Oh, so if certain christians aren't disrespected, you simply redefine what it means to be "christian". That's an awful useful way of "proving" your point.Look, some of the "bible thumpers" deserve to be made fun of. If you bypass reason to claim a belief that you then attempt to force on others, you have discarded respect from the conversation, and will get none from me in return. Open minded, respectful conversation will be met with the same.
Scotracer Says:
Feb 14, 2009 - hoover4000: You are believing something exists therefore the burden of proof lies with you to show WHY you believe so. Us atheists choose not to believe because there's no reason to believe in something with no evidence. If you claim that's an illogical state of mind, I guess you believe in Pixies, leprechauns and Unicorns? Just because we can't prove they don't exist? After you think about that for 5 minutes you'll then realise how stupid your viewpoint is.
findmeyesterday Says:
Feb 14, 2009 - The old adage says, "Just because your car gets put into a garage, this doesn't mean it automatically becomes a garage." The evidence of a Christian is not of the outward appearance, but rather the change of heart and then the change of heart being mirrored on the outside. If anything, roughly 35% of Americans are believers of Christ with the remaining 40 of 75% being fakes. Citizens of America are called "Americans". "Name-only" Christians are no citizens of Christ.
hoover4000 Says:
Feb 14, 2009 - I have been very respectful to all the atheists not believing in what I believe, so please don't be disrespectful to me because you don't understand my belief. It's just really rude to say my viewpoint is "stupid"
Scotracer Says:
Feb 14, 2009 - If your beliefs have no real evidence, and yet you still cling to them...well, they are stupid. Nothing personal but please think about what you are believing in.
hoover4000 Says:
Feb 14, 2009 - it's not your business to say my beliefs are stupid and it's just rude. But for the record, going through life not having anything to believe in is "stupid" as well

hoover4000 Says:
Feb 9, 2009 - i know theres a God not because I was raised to believe so. Do not pretend to know me. I believe in God because I have found it to be true from my own experience. And I haven't seen any athetists in all their complaining about this video give any evidence to prove there isnt a God, and when I ask them too they just say "uh, it's up to you to give the evidence" how interesting When the time comes to where it's our time to die, your the one that's going to lose if your wrong
