May 11, 2012 - you good sir deserve a cookiemy opinon would be only that the bill gets split it's nice having a great military but yes the citizens as well count just as much( health wise i mean)

1VagyokAkiVagyok1 Says:

May 12, 2012 - Lol thank you.Well,I think it's more complex than that. We've been killing each other for centuries always driven by the desire to control. That same desire made us raise children who comply with this system and are easily controllable. If we would have been driven by altruism rather than selfishness, then we would have created a non-violent society who doesn't need an army because you simply wouldn't hurt a fellow human. And it all starts with education.Yet take a look at our schools today.

1VagyokAkiVagyok1 Says:

May 12, 2012 - Take a look at our entertainment,at our computer games aso.I dare say that at least 60% of all that involves war or killing. You need an army only when you think you have an enemy. So when we finally stop killing each other, this industrial-military complex will come up with an alien enemy and we have to unite to "kill them or get killed".Do we really think that a race evolved enough for space travel is still stuck at our level of understanding the Universe? Think about that for a second.

TheAlexagius Says:

May 12, 2012 - yes this tech is useless i mean all those people who cant walk i mean they aren't people right, and those people who have muscle deterioration are also not people so i mean you are are right this tech will never help, no wait....

TheSaltyAdmiral Says:

May 13, 2012 - Please read my post again. I did not say that military gear never end up helping civilians too, of course they do(sometimes). My beef is with nations that seem to only bother to invent stuff if it is for war, why not invent it for good in the first place? And before you say "thats not human nature" or something, look to Japan. They were human last time I checked;)

Wolfen443 Says:

May 14, 2012 - Is too cumbersome, they have to provide a protective body and a power source to it before they go Captain Power.

ShaunSFitzgerald Says:

May 14, 2012 - Japan relies on nuclear power, a by product of military science.

jcismyman Says:

May 15, 2012 - I'm wicked sure J. Robert Oppenheimer wasn't in the military rahbra.

ShaunSFitzgerald Says:

May 16, 2012 - as well, most of the U.S. military tech comes from private companies. The orginal statement was a naive statement, which was what my first post pointed out.

ShaunSFitzgerald Says:

May 16, 2012 - Japan use to make lots of military hardware. They don't anymore because first, they're not suppose to have a "standing army" since the peace treaty after WWII and the U.S. provides a huge portion of their national security. You should also know that most military tech in the U.S. comes from private industries which is later converted to military use. Robots like this one similar to the ones used in the logging industry. Don't be a bigot about countries, each has its faults and similarities.

TheSaltyAdmiral Says:

May 17, 2012 - Its not bigotry, many do this. But in the US the irrational spending has gone amok. Its way beyond any national defense needs. Yes its private companies, but its the gov that funds most of these, and buy the products afterwards. If the gov spendt only 10% of the military budget, on NASA, we would have bases on the moon and mars today, if not even more.Just see this clip about the NASA budget: /watch?v=3_F3pw5F_PcIt put things into perspective.

ShaunSFitzgerald Says:

May 18, 2012 - You don't even mention that a huge portion of our military budget goes to subside other nations, that which include Germany, France, Japan just to name a few. You can't say what a country's national defense needs are, and that is why it is bigotry. No nation can say, and no person can say a country doesn't need "that" or any particular thing. NOW, don't get me wrong, I would like to stop subsidizing other countries. I don't think we need bases protecting countries that are barely allies...

ShaunSFitzgerald Says:

May 18, 2012 - But actual military spending, i.e. troop wages, support, supplies. You can't say the U.S. doesn't need that, history has taught the U.S. that downsizing leaves it unprepared for war. If you want to go with that approach then it gives legitimacy to a draft which I don't think anyone wants. Again, like I said, the military budget includes what goes into other countries and you and I agree there (I assume). You have to remember that the majority of the budget goes to troops.

ekdromoi Says:

May 18, 2012 - what are you talking about

L0RDSHE0GORATH Says:

May 19, 2012 - You really think anyone would even be able to afford that lol.

TheAlexagius Says:

May 19, 2012 - just like what people said about computers in the '50s, prces fall tell me? was your computer over $10 million? i doubt it but it was int he 50's people never believed you or i could afford 1 and here we are 6 years later, and the computer has got more complex, more complexity less price how? mass production if these got into mass production prices would plummet, just like the automobile and the radio prices fall so would this

jodigunz Says:

May 20, 2012 - its stupid ass fuck never mind it all depends what field your in it might help just don't wear it if getting shot at

FatRabbitStudios Says:

May 21, 2012 - and this was made four years ago. O_O

TechnoBots1 Says:

May 21, 2012 - Halo in real life! All it needs now is a jet pack.........

richclay92 Says:

May 21, 2012 - SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY

Blackfriday420 Says:

May 21, 2012 - It's not only Americans, its humans. You do realize Japan isn't allowed to have a traditional military anymore, right? Japan, just like alot of other nations, doesn't have a peaceful history.

Assasin0021 Says:

May 22, 2012 - Plenty of very helpful civilian technology comes from military research. I wouldn't be surprised if eventually the research used for these exoskeletons (with strength toned down) ended up being used to create an exoskeleton that can restore a semblance of normal movements to disabled people. That said, prototerminator.

flobo79 Says:

May 24, 2012 - the damn thing is hooked on most likely because there is no battery big enough to power it

jenrick10 Says:
