Title: Graphing Linear Inequalities - YourTeacher.com - Algebra Help
Added: Apr 21, 2008
Author: yourteachermathhelp
Duration: 4:7
Description:
For a complete lesson on graphing linear inequalities, go to http://www.yourteacher.com - 1000+ online math lessons featuring a personal math teacher inside every lesson! In this lesson, students learn to graph inequalities in two variables. For example, to graph y is less than x + 2, the first step is to graph the boundary line y = x + 2, using the chart method from lesson 4B. Note that greater than or less than means that the boundary line will be dotted, and greater than or equal to or less than or equal to means that the boundary line will be solid. To determine which side of the boundary line to shade, substitute a test point, such as (0, 0), into the original inequality, y is less than x + 2. Since (0) is less than (0) + 2, or 0 is less than 2, is a true statement, the side of the line that contains the point (0, 0) is shaded.

May 7, 2012 - I don't think you should take it out on the teacher. In my class we have people of all grades (C-A*) so the teacher needs to take his time to explain. I just sit quietly in the class as long as I know the teacher will go over everything in the class. And, if you don't revise don't expect to get A/A* because when the clever ones don't, I see them saying the teacher was rubbish

May 7, 2012 - Any new material we "learn" is tested on the next day. Her method of teaching is giving us one example, and then proceeding to give us ten worksheets never to go over them and explain. I learn more in a three minute video than in three class periods combined. I have upheld my A for the school year though, only because of outside help. I have learned nothing from her. She refuses to answer questions (which everyone has) because she says we should've "listened the first time around. It's annoying.

May 8, 2012 - Your teacher is a proper bitch. I have an English teacher who acts the same way. Does she not understand that sometimes students don't understand what your talking about. I think it is best look for outside help like you or take notes as she talks to learn at home.BTW my maths teacher does the same thing as he gives the test just after we learnt it but maths is my strongest subject so I dont see it the way you see it.
TheSoccerKitten Says:
May 8, 2012 - I guess you could put it that way. Yes, I agree. I do take notes, but what I find is that the notes don't help me really comprehend it as fully as it should if she taught it well. Math is one of my strengths, but the teacher really does make it or break it.

May 14, 2012 - Well,sometimes we don't get it,but sometimes people doesn't wanna learn.
TheSoccerKitten Says:
May 14, 2012 - That may be the case for some people, that's true. I assure you that I would love to learn, but can't, since my teacher is essentially incapable of teaching anything. xP
