Mar 20, 2012 - I think this song is about his sister committing suicide. At the start when she says "I'm gunna fly on down then fly away" he says "what?" as if uncomfortable with the idea of her death. He begins to accept it like when "well, all right." at the end, he says "yeah!" as if he is comfortable with the idea and is going to let her go. He wants to take one last flight with her "over the factories and smoke" before she goes, and then he helps her move on. The robot is a metaphor for that.

At the end, the melon has a mouth, getting the ability to express this feeling, and finally accepting that its his fault, and that people are just not like they are likely to be when they live as a person, with a book and a button.
