Feb 26, 2012 - Because electronics company's are following what's called Moore's law and everything you buy today is obsolete in two years. Year before last Windows 7 came out. Next year Windows 8 will be on the market. In order to be competitive in the electronic age companies have to upgrade their computers to stay competitive. It is cheaper to trash a desktop PC or laptop than to upgrade the new parts for it.

Feb 26, 2012 - Ya planned product obsolescence, I don't like that.... I'm still using Vista and a lot of other people are still using XP or even Windows 98!! What can/should we/they (manufacturer) do??? At least try to make the product life cycle longer....???!!! Money is useful yes I know but it's not everything...................And use recyclable materials.........

Mar 28, 2012 - To think this video was uploaded 4 years ago and i am only awakening to this reality now and i consider myself "conscious". Everything i witnessed broke my heart, the man who toils for hours inhaling toxic fumes, the innocent, smiling children with odds of lowered IQ, the women in their beautiful saris carrying the circuit boards. Hard working people yet for what? cancer? i can't control the tears. they don't even see the structural war being waged upon them. we must spread their story

Apr 11, 2012 - Someone's gotta do it. No one in Greenpeace has ever done a hard day's work, and they wouldn't know what it means to earn a dollar.

madyogaboy Says:

Apr 28, 2012 - Listen its not the job that is being critisized here because people need to work.IT IS THE HAZARDOUS PRODUCTS THAT ARE AFFECTING THE ENVIRONMENT AND PEOPLES HEALTH THAT IS THE PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!

NikosiaMateas Says:

Apr 29, 2012 - And without them, we basically wouldn't have an economy. Put down your Starbucks and develop some sense and reason.

madyogaboy Says:

Apr 29, 2012 - So we wouldn't have an economy whithout what hazardous products that affect the environment an people health OR without jobs? Please be clear on about your stance before telling others "to develop sense and reason."By the way I love how you assume I drink Starbucks...I don't.

NikosiaMateas Says:

Apr 29, 2012 - We wouldn't have the modern economy without computers. The components used in them ARE hazardous. The non-toxic alternatives are too expensive for most manufacturers to use. Aside from nothing, nothing you just wrote made sense. "madyogaboy"? Go back to school, you fucking hippie.

madyogaboy Says:

Apr 29, 2012 - Did you even watch or pay attention to this video? Not only did it mention that computers can be made with LESS toxic components, BUT that e-waste dumping from developed countries into less developed countries IS the problem here! And non-toxic alternatives being to expensive? Evidence of your claim would be helpful. As well please review the video before you respond next time. By the way I am in school now since you seem SO concerned about it.

NikosiaMateas Says:

Apr 29, 2012 - If less toxic components were less expensive or the same price, they'd be used in all computer products. Corporations aren't some mean old boogeymen actively trying to kill third-world vermin, bud. Like I said... Develop some common sense.

RainbowSkyM Says:

May 1, 2012 - Must say that lots of poor countries got well played by developed countries, sad but true story

indegruv Says:

May 7, 2012 - yeah keep laughing about that as more and more "developed" countries are having their standards lowered to better "compete" with said "poor countries" you're such a dope you can't even see that much yet you are so arrogant.

indegruv Says:

May 7, 2012 - shut the fuck up, mr. corporate shill wanna be .

NikosiaMateas Says:

May 7, 2012 - "I am the 99%!!!"*types YouTube comments from Mac Book in passenger seat of Mommy's Porche*

indegruv Says:

May 7, 2012 - "I AM THE FALLACY LOGIC THINKER GUY!" *blurts out bullshit that some other misguided fuck threw out there and it tickled his weak ass Ego enough to keep repeating it*

NikosiaMateas Says:

May 8, 2012 - Have fun making lattes.

indegruv Says:

May 8, 2012 - Have fun making assumptions, shithead fallacy thinker guy. WRONG AGAIN! WRONG WRONG WRONG that's all you are good for is being "that" guy.. the one no one want to talk to because you're so fucking stupid it's not worth the effort.

NikosiaMateas Says:

May 8, 2012 - And you're a troubled teenager who can't see the forest for the trees. Enjoy being a broke-ass hippie.
