Mar 25, 2012 - The only male singer I can come up with that would match Karen is/was Ivan Rebroff, Elvis was no way near

paulmskacklmtrueman Says:
Apr 4, 2012 - I rate them both at the top of the tree; Elvis at his best from '68 to '73, heard in analogue, usually a vinyl LP, is miles better than many imagine from having heard only the CDs versions and digital downloads. So was Karen; her live show at the palladium in '76 is on LP record too and most people wouldn't believe their ears if they heard it.

Apr 4, 2012 - PS Check out James Brown Live at the Apollo vol 2; he sings out of this world on that.

Apr 21, 2012 - just does not work for me either...you can't compare these two...
lucjennes Says:
Apr 30, 2012 - The King and the Queen !
ToddTampa1 Says:
May 3, 2012 - I totally agree with jennifercorly! You can't even begin to compare these two singers. Both were superstars in their own right. I would pick Karen every time over Elvis though, but that's me..no offense to 'the king' or his fans. They both made a significant and lasting impact in the world of music! May they both Rest In Peace!
mdsuke025 Says:
May 5, 2012 - Absolutely, but this was a very nice "mix" and honering both...Think about how they are both icons of continuing problems...Him with drugs and her w/aneroxity, which are still both large problems in our country!!! Both loved, just different generes....
lebaresq Says:
May 6, 2012 - If YouTube poster of this presentation has access to Elvis or Karen Carpenter's rendition in vinyl record format, using contemporary direct drive turntable with infinitely adjustable 'tone control' can refine their harmonies to make it appear they're actually performing this together, creating a new, eminently marketable product.
TheKocopuvz Says:
May 11, 2012 - This is really weird and off-key.... Well, when "they" harmonize they aren't together at all. But it is interesting. I think it's cool that this proves that Karen Carpenter is WAY better than the "King of Rock and Roll". Way better. I don't blame Elvis for the posthumous fake blend here, I just think Little Richard is the REAL King of Rock 'n' Roll. And Karen is the Queen.
badrap657 Says:
May 15, 2012 - Yeah, when those string parts come in and they sing together it becomes absolutely poly tonal, basically bad editing and should NOT have been posted. Throw in a few marching bands and call it an homage to Charles Ives. If you don't get the reference you probably don't have the ears to hear how bad this mash up is. Mangled is what it is. One thing is clear, Elvis is weak and Karen strong as singers, no comparison in the energy levels and passion.
reloda Says:
May 21, 2012 - Saddist song ever?
celticwitan Says:
May 23, 2012 - It was a very good attempt to have 2 1 and only singers ... together... each singer that is any good, you know who is singing because they have a unique voice... That what separates 1 singer from the rest. Take RAP.. any rapper would sound the same. That is not music. Unique voices are. Carly Simon, Ann Wilson, Sara Evans, Stevie Nicks, Robert Plant, Judy Collins, Eddie Vedder, Niel yong, csny, Budgie, Ozzy, I mean some people you know who is singing. Others do not stand out as singers
No1KCfan6 Says:
May 23, 2012 - "Him with drugs and her w/aneroxity..." Anorexia, too ;-)
No1KCfan6 Says:
May 23, 2012 - sara evans unique?

trishptg Says:
Mar 15, 2012 - I think the point here is showing two very unique people with so much in common. They both had hearts of gold, soul & love of music that they shared without expectation or greed. And both lost to us way too early, yet left us with more gifts than many combined. Breaking hearts just because they were so loved by so many & living without them in this world is our loss. However our gain was having them in it & the legacy they left behind. Great pictures and wonderful video w/ what u had to work w/
