Jan 5, 2012 - It's unbelievable the profound sense of grief I feel watching this video. It's amazing that the connection I feel to his music (and therefore to him) is so strong that I miss somebody I never even knew existed while he was alive. Jan 10, 2012 - so weird to see these pillars in their natural setting with Elliott walking around them. I see them encased on Lovejoy downtown all the time, but they look so out of place/lonely without mr. smith's presence. Portland changed my life, thanks Elliott.

For me to connect with a musician that deeply without even meeting him, shows how powerful his lyrics and pained voice are. No one comes close to portraying emotion like he did. Breaks my heart.
