hofifut Says:
Jan 8, 2012 - Let's get the money out of politics. Wolf-pac.com. Please donate money.
safewaysecurity Says:
Jan 8, 2012 - Everything takes money. It takes money to produce a documentary it takes money to put out advertisements. You didn't answer my question. Should it be illegal for a group to put out a video about a candidate because it cost money?
Mormons4Romney2012 Says:
Jan 8, 2012 - You're wrong! Romney said, "Corporations are people, my friend." And he was right, because the Supreme Court backs up what Romney said.
SSJ3Ulcer Says:
Jan 8, 2012 - The thing is, when the FEC told Citizens United that they couldn't air an anti-Hillary Clinton documentary on television, it was not some walking, talking, bug-eyed, living logo that walked straight out of a School House Rocks infomercial and into the courtroom to defend its 1st Amendment rights; it was a person.A Constitutional Amendment to get the money out of politics is needed, but the sloppy and vague wording of "corporations aren't people" is problematic because they kind of are
dtorfleming Says:
Jan 8, 2012 - Look, it's just obscene in the first place to suggest that corporations are people. Of couse they are not. And if we are going to pretend they are then I want them paying tax rates on their revenue and at the same rates as I do. They will instantly claim they are not people. They are tools for business organization.
Nebbyker Says:
Jan 8, 2012 - Huh? This is not about whether a video criticizing a politian is legal or not, it's about whether corporations can donate unlimited amount of money to politicians. Corporations are incredibly more powerful and influencial than any regular citizen, and financing a video is far from being similar to giving millions and millions of dollars to a bunch of politicians so that they pass laws or contracts that favor your business over competition.
Nejitheultimate Says:
Jan 8, 2012 - FUCK YES!!!!!
bowwing333 Says:
Jan 9, 2012 - Montana has a habit of telling the government to go fuck itself. I've been in 45+ of the 50 states and I can tell you...a lot of federal laws that other states need...doesn't apply to Montana...and is usually considered either nonsense and we don't want it....or common sense...and we don't need it. But whatever state you're in...you really shouldn't like this Citizens United anyways. Its rubbish.
godonlyknows13 Says:
Jan 9, 2012 - If corporations are people, then why can't we send them to jail?!
underbjorn Says:
Jan 9, 2012 - "Corporations are people" is giving privileges to corporations without them having any responsibility, typical corrupt capitalists.
theHedgex1 Says:
Jan 9, 2012 - sorry to hear that but one person can't change it, all of the people haves to change it together.
theHedgex1 Says:
Jan 9, 2012 - it's more like 35 or so now, but im not retarded at all. not trying to start an argument but what is your issue?
MetalGearFool Says:
Jan 18, 2012 - There are a lot of liberal towns in MT that tend to rock the conservative boat. Thank you, TYT, for giving a shoutout to my large, yet lightly populatet state for doing the right thing.
MyTemporaryAccount88 Says:
Jan 18, 2012 - Maybe the motivation behind the Montana decision should be a national story...
norvman Says:
Jan 19, 2012 - @SSJ3Ulcer Thanks for the info...
earlsgirlblack Says:
Jan 20, 2012 - No more purchasing politicians !
NaziGOPBallmer Says:
Jan 27, 2012 - Heh, the story of Montana reminds me of that one Brad Pitt movie.
justanotherbum007 Says:
Feb 26, 2012 - Here here.
Dinah4life Says:
Mar 14, 2012 - Wow didn't know NYC and Montana where such fascists who like denying rights and representation to tax payers."Taxation without representation is tyranny!"James Otis
AntitheistPOV Says:
Mar 19, 2012 - Representation for whom?
Dinah4life Says:
Mar 19, 2012 - Job creating businesses and the people who run them. If businesses are not allowed a voice in elections and representation in gov then they should not have to pay taxes. Taxation without representation is why we went to war for independence against Great Britain.
AntitheistPOV Says:
Mar 20, 2012 - The wealthy pay less tax than the middle class and poor and receive far greater representation.
SdaBlackbox Says:
Mar 25, 2012 - FTW
179178 Says:
Apr 7, 2012 - Dinah4life is correct, Antiitheist is wrong. The rich (2%)pays 40%,the middle (50%) pays 60%, the remaining 48% pays 0%. When 52% pays 100%,the remaining 48% needs to shut the hell up, or "get skin in the game".

dtorfleming Says:
Jan 8, 2012 - The governor of Wisconsin will take a Koch brothers call at any hour or rush to their mansion to meet them. Will the governor take your call? Why is that? Is that what you want for American democracy? Is that democracy at all?
