Apr 9, 2012 - In !971, I worked at a Dinner Theater in Jacksonville, Fl. Frankie Laine appeared there, sang "Rawhide" and a bunch of his other songs. After the show he autographed a box of 33 R.P.M. albums (stereo) with his songs on them for $5.00 each every night for two weeks. His performances were sold out every day, as were his albums...There definitely are hundreds of stereo L.P.s out there..

Apr 18, 2012 - This is so much better than the Blues Brothers version. Frankie Lane's variety of tone and inflection is impossible to emulate.I know this for a fact because I learned this song for my math teacher XD

May 8, 2012 - Damn that man could sing!! Anything!!As II recall he was a "real" person, too. He sponsored an annual shoe (?) drive for the needy in San Diego. When he married in his later years the newspaper spoke mostly of the bride (after all it is more her day!!.) The groom's face was familiar:; it wasn't till the end that his real name was given with the casual aside that oh, yea, he was a famous singer--Frankie Laine! What a wonderful, non-egotistical thing to do!! I was so impressed!!!

eldorado62 Says:

May 12, 2012 - Frankie Laine was one of the greatest singers to come out of America. Singers back then sang with a conviction. I'm not saying that there are not singers like that today, but oh boy, you've got to shovel your way through so much SHIT to find the good stuff.

May 26, 2012 - What a damned shame Eric Fleming died so young. This series ended up being his major body of work.
