His film's seem to capture the endearing social dynamics of the times more so than do they act as a catalyst against other generic film projects. Some of his film's like Close Encounter's are more about the social fabric of the 70s ideologies than they are about any generic science fiction fantasy story. And like Saving Private Ryan, the film encompasses the callus nature of WW2, than it does any generic
