May 8, 2012 - I know how you feel. I decided long ago that if I were to take seriously the idea of music appreciation, then sticking to classical and jazz just wasn't going to suffice. I grew up in a household full of swing, big band, jazz, calypso, salsa, merengue, doble paso, bossa nova and it just went to pieces from there. As a teen, I was immersed in all things rock, then got stationed in Europe as one of Uncle Sam's travellers and picked up a taste for classical and renaissance. Music is the greatest.
