May 6, 2012 - such a bittersweet ending to this film, he kills himself because he misses sophia so much and he cant take the pain anymore, yet he has slept for 150 years with his own portrait of sophia and his constant conflict with his subconscious due to his past, and when he wakes up, he will be missing her and will have to start a new life, the message it gives us is... try to make the most out of what you have and make the most out of your time... before you know it itll all be gone

May 8, 2012 - i watched this movie about ten years ago, when i was 18, and still now at 28, i dont think i have watched another movie that has had such an impact on me. i mean come on how many movies do we remember. we may say "oh yeah ive seen that" because we remember the name. maybe a part or two but its not important. but this movie, i remember almost the whole thing, its funny how it stayed with me all these years. and i cant even say it was the best movie ive ever seen. ya know?? lol

May 8, 2012 - he had to kill himself to have a real life.He couldn't live a dream anymore especially knowing that sophia was no longer alive after so many years of being frozen and the only way to possibly see her again was gonna be in another life. If he was still living the old life there could be no way for she has in so many ways moved on while he lived a dream in his old life

May 10, 2012 - This movie marks the single most earth shattering moment of my life. I have always loved this movie from the first second I saw it.  It quickly became a favorite of mine because the emotions I always had locked inside of me came to life right before my eyes. In 2002, I had this movie on while waiting for my one to come home from a day of swimming. He never came back to me. He was carried out to sea for 3 days while a typhoon pelted Okinawa and his body washed up on shore 3 days later.
