Nov 14, 2011 - Yes. Typical Jap OEM quality tires of the time.

Nov 14, 2011 - That was in 84 when the first year model came out and had some bugs. Only 2% caught fire. GM fixed it with a recall. Several things were done during that recall. I know because i owned an 84 SE with the recall having been done and all potential issues were resolved.

Dec 1, 2011 - The MR2 is an amazing car, personally I am really starting to like them. And I am about to buy a 1988 MR2 myself. And I found this video and it interested me. Anyone have any suggestions for modifications?Email me. InhumanNightHawk@gmail.com

Dec 21, 2011 - FIERO FOR THE WIN!!!!!!!!!!!
keyofdavid888 Says:
Dec 21, 2011 - That's true. I had an 84 Fiero and the only one driving a Fiero around in my town. The only other mid engine car was a newer MR2 driving around. We'd wave when we'd pass each other on occasion.

Jan 18, 2012 - I track my SW20 MR2, but know what? I like the Fiero, too.

Feb 14, 2012 - too bad the fiero never saw the mid 90's while the mr2 went on till 2007. I really think the fiero could of have alot of potential if it was kept in production not to mention it would be the only affordable american midship car.

Feb 25, 2012 - i have an 86 fiero and its the best daily driver weekend rider around. its just marvelous.

Mar 3, 2012 - I own three Middies, a 93 MR2 T, An 88 Fiero GT and two Fiat X1/9s. The X1/9 is by far the funnest for seat o the pants driving even if underpowered. The fiero is a close second with it's instant on power. These two are fun on the road and also the track. In Autocross these cars have the power and handling necessary to enjoy. Now for the MR2. This car is the most refined. It is fast and nimble but it's extra weight and luxury feel makes it a no-go in autocross. but preferred for touring.

Mar 4, 2012 - This is a great video! I've been having trouble finding a low-miles MR2, starting to consider looking at Fieros instead. This gave me a lot of food for thought.

Mar 4, 2012 - I have to say this that my 93 MR2 is a garage trophy and it never sees rain or snow. As I said it is more refined with fit and finish but it feels more like driving a sedan compared to the go-cart feel of the X1/9 or the rattling but firm Fiero. That said, when I am driving my Fiero or even the X1/9 they seem to attract a lot more attention. One of the X1/9s I bought new in 1974 and it has always been a head turner, and now I think it is because I think nobody knows what it is. I love middies.

Mar 16, 2012 - fiero = attempt to make an american muscle car like a Japanese sports car. is just sad... you can tell these tests were done by americans that didnt know when to stop eating fries. you do NOT belong on a track if you arent 100% attentive. and if you want to be fat and drive a sports car, get a mercedes.

Mar 16, 2012 - "the MR2....has better seats and more noise."I was only born in 1988, but even I miss the days when noise was a good thing in a sports car, instead of having them so quiet you have to play motor sounds over the speakers *sigh*

Mar 25, 2012 - its all about buyers remorse... sometimes peopel have the insecurity that they bought the inferior car in the class to cover this up they will zealously defend their car of choice or fiercely discredit the competition. its simple psychology. now that i think of it this applies to more than just cars even video game consoles haha

Mar 26, 2012 - We don't all see each other as enemies. I have owned several of both plus a DeThomaso Pantera. I loved the MR2 but fit in the Fiero for longer drives far better as it is very comfortable. Had the 88 Formula but prefer my 86 GT. The MR2 has a very narrow power band (can't speak for the super-charged, never had one). The MR2 shifter was sweet, honestly I have never found a better shifter in any other sports car including the higher end Ferraris. Love 'em all but only being able to keep one - FIERO
teamdoa Says:
Apr 17, 2012 - They are both slow, but at least you look and sound better going slow in the Fiero.
RelentlessRevolver7 Says:
May 3, 2012 - ill take the mr2 anyday

May 5, 2012 - My first car was a Pontiac Fiero GT V6! still love it. Wish GM would make a new Fiero...
IvysPanicRoom Says:
May 13, 2012 - my dad has a fiero
ptdude805 Says:
May 18, 2012 - Not sure how you could even compare the two. The mr2 was and is leaps and bounds ahead in terms of drivetrain and chassis refinement. Even the na 4ag is still one of the most fun engines to drive in an underpowered small car.
