gammarotor Says:

Feb 17, 2011 - Ford also invented planned obsolescence. My dad,a WWII vet born in 1922 bought his first car,a model T, for $7.50 This is very well done. The editing is a little choppy and the sound is a little uneven but very well done.

Mar 9, 2011 - From nutschTM: "too bad ford (sic) stole technology from the french (sic) back in the day"Now, if only the French would return the favor and steal the cajones to defend themselves from us.

May 24, 2011 - Not true,1886 is when Benz was granted a patent for the car.Ford produced his first quadricycle in 1896. A mere 10 years later not 30. But you are right Benz got in a decade before. Ford was not the only car manufacturer in the late 1800's. There were cars driven in America prior to Ford producing his quadricycle. The Otto engine was invented 10 years before Benz produced his car. The Otto engine replaced the steam engine as a driven motor. There were steam engine cars in 1873.

uraldneprvw Says:

May 24, 2011 - It was a new era in automotion. There were steam cars first and the Otto engine enabled lots of companies to use the internal combustion engine as a form of locomotion. Anyone who used the Otto engine as a form of locomotion for a horseless carriage paid homage to Nikolaus Otto. The French didn't invent it but chose to see the benefits of it as a method to propell cars. Ford produced his quadricycle in 1896. Peugeot 1891. Ford wasn't the 1st or the French for that matter

Jun 28, 2011 - Nice Work

KripDrip Says:

Oct 16, 2011 - wages back then were a lot lower! $5 a day in 1920 is equal to $57 dollars today. Thats less than the MINIMUM wage today which is $7.25. 8 hours a day at $7.25 an hour is $58 dollars a day. So were better off now.

Dec 10, 2011 - Henry Ford was anti-semitic

SatchmoSings Says:

Dec 12, 2011 - 01. Ford's anti-Semitism really didn't start until he met the irksome Rosika Schwimmer on his peace mission during WWI and it was after the war that Ford, embroiled in a lawsuit with the Chicago Tribune where he was held up to public ridicule by too many Jewish intellectuals who publicly laughed at and sneered at his total lack of education, (despite building the Ford Motor Co.) did his anti-Semitism really take off.

SatchmoSings Says:

Dec 12, 2011 - 02. Ford was also friendly with Thomas Edison who was, originally, much more anti-Semitic than Ford; Edison would never hire Jewish workers while Ford did and he also had black assembly-line workers, too.

May 15, 2012 - hey :) if you still read new comments please tell me: how did you get that first clip with henry ford talking? in 1901 there were no video cameras were there?

BavAuto54 Says:

May 20, 2012 - I am not sure which clip you are talking about. In the very first video, Russ Whitney was talking. I do not believe there are any clips in the video where Henry Ford is talking.
