May 22, 2012 - for the sky one, it's blue because blue has the shortest wavelength of all visible light, even though the sun shines white light this light passes through tne atmosphere and like white light moving through a crystaline structure, it scatters the light into blues reds and yellows. red and yellows being long wavelengths, are bent the easiest and are seen where the sun rises and sets, blues being shorter wavelengths don't bend as much and are typically found midday when the sun is over head.
