This video demonstrates the supreme portability and ease of setup of the PortaBote, the unique folding boat. The PortaBote is very durable and incredibly stable. It is the perfect solution for those without a trailer or storage space for a traditional boat.Shown in the video is the 14 ft. PortaBote outfitted with a 6hp Nissan Outboard motor (short shaft) and a Minn Kota electric trolling motor (40lb thrust). You can unload, setup, and launch the PortaBote from any open shoreline, but a boat ramp may sometimes be more convenient. The optional transport wheels (Porta-Dolly) are shown and are very convenient when setup near shore is not feasible. You can easily setup in an open parking space at a busy launch ramp site and not get in the way of others--just roll her in the water when you are ready!Hopefully you will get an appreciation of what PortaBote owners call "PortaBote style!"--extreme portability, high versatility, proven durability and surprising capability. Mar 17, 2011 - Flatzout must just be here for entertainment.Kayaks are fine for some purposes but let me know when they make one that can do all the things a portabote can do and still fold flat 4 inches and be powered with a 10hp engine for fishing in a place like baja.

Apr 30, 2011 - At $2400 for a 10 footer, I think I'll keep my 10 ft Landau aluminum jon boat, probably lighter, and I don't have to put it together when I get to the water! I put a 4 HP outboard on the back and it runs like a scalded cat. These things are too pricey for me.

Aug 7, 2011 - I bought it second hand, so I don't know its age. My plastic welder arrived in the mail. I bought some polypropylene welding rods. As soon as I get some time off, I will try to make the repair.

May 3, 2012 - What the!?.. That is one helluva portable boat you got there, and the transom? Most boat transoms are fixed and weighs a ton and this one so light! No need for a trailer too! Nice! :-) How much you bought for it? Does it come in variety of lengths?
