I'm really happy about how this came out. It kinda started off lazy, but then I started trying out new techniques and experimenting. I'm quite proud of how I did, even though it took forever and a day to make for something that even isn't close to the quality of OneyNG or Adam Phillips. I haven't uploaded to Newgrounds yet, since clock day is happening so I'll wait for the dust to settle so my vid can get a lot of views and a higher chance of making this my 3rd front page. Ho yeah. Waaaaaaaaaaaaay back in 2005, there was something called "The VA Jam" - a weekly friendly competition on the voiceacting messageboard I frequent. It was meant to help us hone our skills as actors/mixers/directors etc. One such jam had us adapting several strips from a webcomic of our choosing into audio (or video, if one were so inclined) and that it be no more than 5 minutes long. I choose to do VG Cats, and with a little help of some of my friends (Autumn and Nick Tiner) we did a nice, little clip - one that even made its way to the VG Cats forum community and was quite well-received! And then I promptly forgot about it and went on to other stuff. Couple of years later, I saw that someone had adapted the audio from the VG Cats clip I mixed into a youtube video and I thought "Whoa. That's pretty awesome. I wish I could do that." and then promptly forgot about it and chased after magical rainbows with pots of gold at the end of them. Cut to last month, playing around with Windows Movie Maker (hsssssssssssssss!) I finally figured out "Oh the many snaps! I can do that!" and thus this clip was born! Credits are at the end of the video, I take no credit whatsoever, etc. I haven't had the pleasure of playing portal (my computer kinda sucks, so I can't play any good PC games.) Sound mixing and video editing is probably not something that you should do while sick or pregnant, but here I am! Just the sick part. I don't think I come installed with the baby oven option. Not a lot of drama for this episode apart from being sick and leaving mixing things to the last minute (as per my usual habit on important projects, haHA!). One person was actually missing lines for their character for an entire panel - but rather than delay this episode waiting for that one person to get their line in, I stepped in and filled the gap with the polystyrene seal of my voice. Try and guess where said gap in the dialogue appears! I think you'll be pleasantly surprised! Or somewhat shocked to hear my voice there, since the voice I played substitute for was a girl. Don't judge me. Other things: This episode was also going to have a longer tribute to the television show "Sliders" in "#239 - Bizzaro!" - splicing in some footage from the TV series (specifically the opening titles flashing through all the characters and a wormhole sequence) but after the scare I had with UMG pouncing on episode 2 for using the music to Schindler's List, I decided not to take the chance. Tried out a few new visual tricks here and there for my own amusement. Put in a couple of throwbacks and references to previous eps, as well as a tribute to the work of a certain magnificent voice artist/actor/director/magician that taught Superman how defeat Martians from Mars with a magic trick, whose greatest claim to fame was an advertisement about peas. Also, a giant planet-sized robot that ate planets and other robots not as giant as he. And he also made some big important movie in the 40s or something, I dunno about that one. Haha~! This was so much fun to make! This was an idea for an animation meme that I came up with while I was dragging garbage outside XDDD ((There was some weird chemical that almost made me puke! Oo )) Anyway, this took several weeks to make, mainly because I couldn't sit down and work on it for more than five minutes... I'd really love to see a few video responses to this xP The only animations to do are the dance ((about 14 frames)) and the button mash ((usually only two)) Put your favorite gameplay footage from your favorite games as the background! Only do it if you feel like it, I'm gonna be all OMG, DO MY MEME NAO BECAUSE I'M AN INTERNET ATTENTION NOOBWHORE XDDD Amazing light effects are external GNU Plug-ins for Sony Vegas.
