We haven't seen the end of season 3 for the Vampire Diaries, but thanks to some new scoop from the show's executive producer Julie Plec, we're already excited about season 4. Plec just chatted with the Hollywood Reporter about what we have to look forward to as season 3 comes to a close, revealing that the final four episodes will pack in everything from romance to a possible death, and of course more on Elena's dilemma of maybe being in love with 2 vampires. The decade dance will also be featured, and Plec confirmed that Elena will be asking Stefan, which will ignite more romantic tension with Damon. And FYI -- she added the night won't end well overall. As far as season four is concerned, Plec and her writing team are already very excited. She told THR that they already have some amazing character moves in the works, which most definitely will include new mystery and a new villain capable of giving Klaus a run for his original hybrid money. What or who this could possibly be, we have no idea, but we'd love to hear your guesses. The Vampire Diaries - Underwater Episode Coming!

Long-time viewers of the show know that Elena's parents died after getting into a car accident where their vehicle flew off the Wickery Bridge into the water. The only reason that Elena actually survived (which we much later learned) was because Stefan dove in to save her. Now the the Wickery Bridge has been restored, and the angsty love triangle between Damon, Elena and Stefan is heating up, we can look forward to an upcoming flashback episode that shows the fateful night of Elena's near-death experience. Paul Wesley, who plays Stefan Salvatorre, revealed to MTV that he's going to be getting SCUBA certified and they he knows he'll be going under water for some scenes because the show's had him in diving lessons already. Nina, who is already scuba certified, also stated that it's really cool to finally be able to use her underwater skills at work. According to the actress though, they haven't shot any of the scenes, but when they do, you might want to send some good thoughts Paul Wesley's way, because according to both Nina and him, he's a bit scared of the water. The Vampire Diaries Finale Recap 3x22 - HUGE ELENA SHOCKER!

To sum up the season 3 finale of the Vampire Diaries the only reaction I can really come up with is -- "wait, what just happened?" The final episode titled "The Departed" served up more shockers that we could have ever bargained for. So let's just kick if off with what has everyone picking their jaws up off the floor -- Elena is apparently a vampire now. Or so we think. In the last episode, she suffered from an injury and when Jeremy took her to the hospital, Dr. Fell didn't want to scare him, so she didn't reveal that she had to quote "HELP" her. And you know where this is going -- unknown to Elena and the others, Dr. Fell gave her vampire blood to help her in the healing process. Later in the episode, Elena and Matt get into an accident and fall into the river and unfortunately Stefan can't help her before she dies. That said, she dies but hello, in a totally unplanned twist, she comes back to life. HOLY COW. It was a very Bella Swan moment, but much less glamorous. I still refuse to believe this is actually true -- Bonnie has taken a total turn and is definitely doing her own thing when it comes to her witchy powers, so maybe she was able to protect Elena somehow. Another thing that she apparently helped out with was freeing Klaus' spirit and letting him inhabit Tyler. So when we saw Alaric kill Klaus in this finale episode, Klaus was actually safe --which is probably why no one else ...

Joslyn Davis here for ClevverTV and today we've solved a Vampire Diaries mystery that's had fans scratching their heads for the entire season! If you're like us, you've likely been wondering why Elijah is the only member of the original vampire family who does not have a British accent. Thanks to some digging from our good friend Robyn Ross over at TV Guide, we finally have an answer. According to Daniel Gillies, who plays Elijah, he didn't actually expect to be on as many episodes as he has. He explained that when he first landed the role of Elijah, he know he was going to be a very old vampire and a henchman, but he didn't know he'd be a brother in the original family. So there's one explanation as to why he wouldn't have known to give his character an accent. But on that specific note, Daniel Gillies says the answer is quote: "really, really basic." He notes that he made a decision about the character's life prior to coming to Mystic Falls saying that Elijah "would have lived in Europe so there's his cadence," but as far as where else he would have lived, Daniel says quote: "no question, New York City." Then he went on to clarify that it only takes a couple of decades for an accent to truly change -- and this my friends and fellow TVD fans is the answer.
