ABBA Björn getting intereviewd! Translation of the show: Narrator: Björn Ulvaeus' sway to success is as straight as a German motorway. It all starts at home in Västervik. His musical upbringing was given to him by his father who played the mandolin. Björn: And what you heard on the radio of course "Vildanden" for instances, oh, that was fantastic. Interviewer: That captured you? Björn: Yes, the tragic - I don't even think I understood the lyrics correctly, but the lyrics were deeply tragic and they captured me anyway. I had a cousin who was one year older than me and who was really musically talented and who played the trumpet, guitar, banjo and piano. We would always have fun when he played for us at Christmas for example you see and that made a great impression on me. Interviewer: To play or fascinate the public? Björn: Yes both I think Narrator: 1962. Björn is 17 years old now. Bjorn and some of his friends went from house to house and played as The West Bay singers. Vastervikssangaran. When they realised that not only themselves but others too like the music they played, they continued playing together. They got on swell that they even were presented in a magazine and next year they won radio talent contest, On Stage ("Plats på scen"), with the name The Hootenanny Singers. Tadaaa, today is my 3rd birthday on YouTube. I´d like to celebrate it by singing one of my favorite songs by Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson. It was kind of tricky to sing though. Agnetha´s Fältskog composition "I´m still alive" and the pre-version of this song were the first on my list. Later I downloaded them, as the channels where they were being uploaded kept disappearing again and again. "When the waves roll out to sea" is an unreleased song by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, who own the copyright of it!!! I sing it to celebrate their work. The song has an interesting story. It was written, re-written again and again and has been only a demo from 1982 till 2002. In 1982/83 Benny and Björn worked on ABBA´s album "Opus 10" which has never been released. They had one song almost finished, but not remastered. It was called "Just like that". I love it. Agnetha sang like an angel (For fans: The "nana" version is my fave). B&B took the chorus of "Just like that" and made another song from it for "Gemini" (Karen and Anders Glenmark ...

Their compilation album ABBA Gold, released in 1992 resulted in multi-million dollar sales and topped the charts in at least 15 countries. This documentary is structured around the rehearsals for Mama Mia, a new romantic comedy musical, inspired by their songs. This provides the springboard into a wealth of archive performance footage from the 70's and 80's. One of the most important elements of the program will be the protagonists themselves. Agnetha, Anni-Frid, Bjorn and Benny talk for the first time about their work and time with ABBA.

It was released only as a 12-inch single in 1981 in limited territories, rather than as a standard 7-inch record. At the time, it was the highest selling 12-inch record in UK chart history, where it peaked at number 7. "Lay All Your Love on Me" appears on the group's ABBA Gold: Greatest Hits collection. "Lay All Your Love on Me" was an electro-disco song penned by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, with Agnetha Fältskog singing lead. Recording began at Polar Music Studios in Stockholm on 9 September 1980, with the final mix of the song being completed on 10 October 1980. "Lay All Your Love on Me" is known for a descending vocal sound at the end of each verse. This was achieved by sending the vocal into a harmoniser device, which was set up to produce a slightly lower-pitched version of the vocal. In turn its output was fed back to its input, thereby continually lowering the pitch of the vocal. Andersson and Ulvaeus felt that the chorus of the song sounded like a hymn, so parts of the vocals in the choruses were run through a vocoder, to recreate the sound of a church congregation singing, slightly out of tune.[1] The song was not originally intended to be released as a single, but was issued in 12-inch form in the UK and a few other countries in 1981.
