How did this get 27000 views? Don't you all have something better to do? :-D (Results screen at the end) Sorry about the cruddy accuracy! I take my new keyboard for a spin on Typingtest.com. Plenty of errors and not my best result (I made 133 earlier today), but I'm still thankful for what I got. My 3 ingredients to successful typing: 1--Prayer-to keep in perspective 2--The DVORAK key layout; with the vowels on one side and the consonants on the other, it makes typing much easier (and safer, even!) 3--A buckling spring "Unicomp Spacesaver" keyboard. The spring-loaded keys rebound much faster than do modern "rubber dome" keyboards, a great asset in speed typing. 4-Practice. I spend a lot of time at the computer desk. Again--my typing might not be on par with some of the Youtube elites, but at least you get to see a nifty keyboard.

It can be distinguished from other means of input, such as the use of pointing devices like the computer mouse, and text input via speech recognition. The world's first typist was Lillian Sholes from Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Christopher Sholes, the man who invented the first practical typewriter. User interface features such as spell checker, autocomplete, and autoreplace serve to facilitate and speed up typing and to prevent or correct errors the typist may make. The basic technique stands in contrast to hunt and peck typing as the typist keeps their eyes on the source copy at all times. Touch typing also involves the use of the home row method, where typists keep their wrists up, rather than resting them on a desk or keyboard as this can cause carpal tunnel syndrome. To avoid this, typists using this method should sit up tall leaning slightly forward from the waist, place their feet flat on the floor in front of them with one foot slightly in front of the other, keeping their elbows close to their sides with forearms slanted slightly upward to the keyboard, fingers should be curved slightly resting on the home row (asdfjkl;). Typing on an IBM Model M Keyboard HD
This is my very first keyboard with mechanical key switches. I have to say that, coming from a rubber dome keyboard, the sound and feel of the Model M is infinitely better quality. I agree that it greatly resembles a typewriter. This particular keyboard is the 1993 model, which I purchased at www.clickykeyboards.com Since the original Model M's are limited in stock, you should grab yours now before they all run out! Typing on a Metadot Das Keyboard Ultimate S
The keyboard has large rubber feet to prevent it from moving around on one's desk. It is small and relatively lightweight when compared to a buckling-spring keyboard, but the case feels very sturdy. The blank keycaps have a satin-like texture and the case itself has a high-gloss finish like an LG or Samsung HDTV casing. It comes with a cleaning cloth similar to the kind used for eyeglasses; you will need this, as the high-gloss finish attracts dust and smudges. The switches have 4mm of travel and actuate about halfway through a keystroke with a very crisp click. The keys are very sensitive and don't need to be bottomed out to actuate them. Even if pressed lightly so that the click is barely audible, they still respond without fail. Their performance is very consistent. When released slowly, the keys stick slightly before returning to the de-actuated position, necessitating that the typist release a key completely to avoid repeat characters when tapping the same key repeatedly. The keys seem to de-actuate at a slightly higher position in the key travel than they actuate, which may throw off some first-time users until they become accustomed to it. It's probably an illusion due to the slight resistance "hump" the keys have on their upstroke. The force and travel required to actuate the switches is considerably less than that of a buckling-spring keyboard, giving them a very different feel from an IBM Model M. Black Kyurem and White Kyurem Typing
QOTD: Did you predict this? I didn't really give much thought as to what Black Kyurem and White Kyurem would be. I mean I didn't think they would actually make it pure fire/ice or electric/ice. Why? Well, to be those types it wouldn't be able to hold it's dragon like appearance and so I didn't give typing much thought since why wouldn't it be ice/dragon? In Pokemon Black and White the moves Frost Shock and Ice Burn are both ice type attacks so it would still get stab on them. Source: bit.ly
