The Crystal Method 'Making Tweekend' Part 1
www.A3ClubTickets.com - The Crystal Method 'Making Tweekend' Part 1. LA's Crystal Method have been referred to as America's answer to the Chemical Brothers. A dance-based electronic duo with a definite rock band feel, the comparison would seem appropriate, although it tends to erase what makes the group distinct a solid base in American hip-hop, rock, soul, and pop. Formed in 1993 by Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland, Crystal Method is the most recent stop in a string of projects that led them from their native Las Vegas (and some forgettable four-track stabs at vocal house music), to the early-'90s LA rave scene. Drawn in by its youthful idealism, Jordan and Kirkland became absorbed by LA's underground club culture and began knocking out tracks inspired by their experiences. On the strength of one of their demos, Crystal Method signed to Steve Melrose and Justin King's City of Angels imprint in 1994, and their debut single, "Keep Hope Alive," appeared soon after. The title was in reference to LA's waning rave scene (burdened by constant police pressure and a string of random violent incidents) and became something of an anthem due to the endless barrage of remixes and alternate versions that appeared. The pair's demand to be taken seriously as a band (as opposed to the enforced anonymity of most techno acts, and something of a new concept for American dance producers) extended to incessant live performances, and Crystal Method's increasing popularity both in the clubs and ...

The Crystal Method Live at the Vogue in Indianapolis 2/24/12
This footage was their Intro on the night of February 24th, playing a remix of Trip Like I Do. Although they didn't hit the stage until midnight, and they played non-stop until 3am, it was one insane show! Typically Live shows are hard on ones mobile electronics, but I was surprised how well this turned out, especially considering the extreme levels of Bass that night. I shot this footage using a Canon PowerShot S95.

EDIT: Since I get so many requests about "How did you do this?!" I'll answer here rather than having to reply individually: Demo Tool Information can be found at this location: developer.valvesoftware.com I just recorded this on a public server. I did not use cheats in any fashion. All that I did was record, follow the player, and used the demo smoother tool to repath the camera (which is why there's all the various camera angles, cutting, etc.), then recorded to avi 2 seperate versions of the scene with a different set of camera angles each. Finally, I used video editing software to cut the pieces together, add the music, and the sound effects. (sound files from Source Engine recordings are almost always out of sync, 85-90% of the time) And finally, the catch with these tools is you are incapable of recording yourself in third person, without a proper 3rd person mode in the actual mod. So you'll need to play cameraman to someone else. Original Description: A music video of Counter-Strike Source, using the tune by Crystal Method "ROLL IT UP" off of Tweekend. The point was to just have as many single shots as possible (you'll notice cuts, speed up bits, dissolves, etc.). Lots of slowmotion, lots of groove, lots of cool. 8) Also keeps me sane while going through a meh period of my life.
