Dangerous Tree Removal
This tree was very dangerous to be around, much less climb. Half of it split off and fell in a storm and what was left didn't look good. You can hear it creak at the base when I am in it and that was a bit unnerving. But it stayed standing long enough for me to bring it down.

This holly tree was kind of in the wrong spot. It is a nice looking tree, about 20 feet tall, and it seemed like a shame to move it with the chainsaw. So we contacted a firm to have it moved. They came with a special tree digging truck. Rather than shoot video or stills, I elected to make a time lapse series on a tripod. I didn't see a setting on this camera that would do it on a timed sequence, so I stood there and pressed the shutter button every so often. The stills were turned into video through Windows Movie Maker, each frame is up for a second. This was a pretty easy thing to do, enjoy! I invited other Arborist and members from TreeBuzz to visit two of our job sites to view us doing tree removals with our Palfinger PK 29002, a 29 m/t knuckleboom crane (29 metric tonnes = 31.967028 short tons) and Palfinger North America gave permission for Rick at Westminster Hydraulics to bring down Palfinger's huge PK150002 (150 m/t !) k-boom crane. Did a Silver Maple with our crane first in video, then did several pines with ours, then several pines on the same job with the PK 150002! Then we did some the rope rigging way with Hobbs LD. It was very fun to run such a huge k-boom and I loved having a fly-jib. It was my first time running the 150002 but the remote is the same as ours, it just has two move levers for the fly jib, felt good, like it was my own crane.
