The Toys .......A Lovers Concerto
The Toys were an American pop girl group from Jamaica, New York, which was formed in 1961 and disbanded in 1968. The Toys were discovered at a talent show by manager Vince Marc, who introduced them to songwriters Sandy Linzer and Denny Randell. Linzer and Randell wrote most of the songs recorded by them, including their US #2 hit single "A Lover's Concerto", and also produced the group's 1965-66 recordings on Bob Crewe's DynoVoice record label Global sales of this disc exceeded two million copies, with a gold record awarded by the RIAA in 1965. Their first US tour was with Gene Pitney. In 1967 the group changed labels and producers, but charted only one more minor single (a cover of Brian Hyland's "Sealed with a Kiss") before breaking up. The Toys appeared on most of the major TV rock programs, including Shindig!, Hullabaloo, and American Bandstand.[1] They also had a cameo role in the 1967 beach movie It's a Bikini World.[2][3]

What you spend your money on is what you'll get more of. Yes, I'll make money from these, but the reason I put rediculous effort and love into this is because I think this is the kind of thing that SHOULD be for sale. Don't be disappointing! Demand amazing stuff, and the people making the stuff will make it. There's no reason anyone should ever have to take something home, and be disappointed! Don't buy junk. ....buy awesome stuff, or nothing at all! That will make the world a more super place! So... there. Rudolph - The Island of Misfit Toys
Rudolph made his television debut on NBC in 1964, when Rankin/Bass produced a stop motion animated TV special of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer that became a popular hit in itself. This version was re-broadcast annually many times over the years, even after it was finally released on video and then DVD. It now airs several times during the Christmas season (on CBS rather than NBC), making it the longest-running TV special in terms of consecutive years. A small bit of trivia regarding the 1964 production, the Roman Numeral Date given at the beginning of the show is in error, missing the second "M", (MCLXIV) which equates to the year 1164. It should have read MCMLXIV to be correct. In 1976, a sequel to the Rankin-Bass original special was produced, entitled Rudolph's Shiny New Year, and then a third in 1979 entitled Rudolph and Frosty's Christmas in July. Then in 2001, a fourth in the series was released titled Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and the Island of Misfit Toys.
