Beheadings were commonplace for 4000 years. The pictures of "death from a thousand cuts" are all from China, during the early 1900s. The beheadings are also from China, during this same time period. There is one photograph of a beheading at the very end of the film whose origins or perpetrators are disputed; some claim he is Japanese--though he is wearing a Chinese police officers cap which was still in fashion during the 1980s in Beijing, China. This video is taken from a much longer film, by Dr. Joseph, that covers the history of China during the 1900s and ends with the Tiananmen Massacre. Although death by 1000 cuts was outlawed, the communists in China under Mao committed horrible atrocities and torture. Mao's wife recommended "death by a 1000" for the president of Communist China and the co-chairman of the Communist party. It is for this reason that we included the footage from the cultural revolution--she recommended death by a thousand cuts and it fit into the topic of the film. Some complain we are being unfair to the communists by including this; this criticism is ridiculous. Chinese victims of torture often post their stories to online forums, hoping to expose what happens in China's notorious detention centres. Today we bring you a few of these stories, but please note: The footage you're about to see includes graphic images and content. Those who read medieval storybooks will know about people being hung, drawn and quartered, and probably feel glad that times have changed since then. But there are reports that this very torture method is being used on political prisoners in China, and has claimed several lives. Testimonials posted to website Clearwisdom.net say detained Falun Gong practitioners have had their limbs stretched in four directions, in an effort to have them renounce their belief in the practice. They say two metal beds are placed side by side, and the victim's arms and legs are fastened to the four outer bedpoles using ropes or handcuffs. Bricks are then wedged between the two beds, forcing them apart. The more bricks are placed, the more the victim's limbs are stretched, disclocating his joints and tearing his tendons. The latest report is from the Weining Detention Centre in Benxi, a city in China's northern coastal province of Liaoning, where Mr Lee Qinghuan was tortured this way for seven days straight, and died early this month. Disabled Boy 'Tortured' With 31 Electric Shocks at Treatment Center
Just horrible... No words for this one..Purely abuse.. 18-year-old Andre McCollins was shocked 31 times by the staff at the Judge Rotenberg Center in Massachusetts, and video footage showing his experience has been released to the public for the first time. McCollins' mother has brought a lawsuit against the Rotenberg Center for what she calls "torture" and "abuse." The Judge Rotenberg Center is a private school for children with physical and social disabilities. McCollins was a student at the time and had been asked to remove his jacket by staff from the Center. When he did not respond, he was subdued by several staff, and then strapped to a table. What followed was agonizing for people in the courtroom to watch. Counselors at the Center administered 31 shocks over the next several hours, as McCollins screamed for help. Throughout the trial, the Center asked that the video footage of the incident not be released to the public, but yesterday the judge overseeing the trial ruled against them, and Fox News released the video. "I never signed up for him to be tortured, terrorized, and abused," McCollins' mother said on the stand yesterday. "I had no idea— no idea— that they tortured the children in the school." Shocking video footage of officer abusing detainees has been released by Australian police. Ben Price is first shown throwing a 21-year-old woman to the floor, then pulling her up by her hair. Price can be then seen punching and kneeing a bleeding, handcuffed Timothy Steele, 23, in May 25, 2008. Other police officers look on - but none intervene - as Price stuffs a running fire hose into his victim's mouth, nearly drowning him. Benjamin Price was jailed for 27 months earlier this week after pleading guilty to four counts of serious assault.

A cell-phone video, showing a suspected robber screaming in pain as an alleged police chief yanks on a rope tied to the victim's genitals, has sparked outrage in the Philippines. This is not the first time police in the country have been criticised for brutality, but the public has not before seen such an incident caught on tape. It is unclear when the tape was shot, but a local televison station broadcast it on Wednesday. The newly elected government government in Manila, the capital, has relieved 11 officiers from duty and is investigating. Al Jazeera's Marga Ortigas reports from Manila.

Halloween was Frank Zappa's favourite holiday, and New York was the site of Frank Zappa Halloween concerts for years! US commanders in Iraq ignored evidence of torture and often failed to investigate the killing of civilians. These are the major findings from the leak of 400000 secret American military files from the whistleblowing website, WikiLeaks. The data describes widespread brutal torture of detainees by Iraqi troops - with some documents showing American authorities often turned a blind eye. The files also reveal that 66000 civilians were killed in Iraq since the US invaded - even though Washington had denied it kept any such record. The Pentagon's condemned what is the largest-ever leak of classified documents - saying it will only serve to help America's enemies.
