Valerian & Laureline - Time Matters
The year is 2416 AD. Time-Space Academy cadet Valerian travels to medieval earth, in the year 912AD, in his final examination to become a Time Agent. There he meets a dancer, Laureline, traveling with a group of minstrels. Valerian is thrown into the dungeon with Laureline, after laughing at her blowing off the local governor's marriage proposal. Seeing Valerian escape the dungeon with his laser gun, Laureline mistakes him for a "magician" and decides to follow him. After the two safely escape the soldier's relentless chase, they return to Valerian's time, with the spaceship Legenda. Valerian realizes that he has broken the most fundamental rule "A Time Agent must not interfere with what is happening in the past" he worries about it's ramifications, only to find out that the Earth had disappeared from the solar system! Lost, with no idea what to do, Valerian decides to go on a trip, to find Earth.

Blaine started a 72 hour magic marathon in Times Square Friday morning to raise money in conjunction with the American Red Cross for Haiti earthquake victims. Blaine says that hes not going to sleep or eat a thing for the duration of the 3 day magic marathon for Haiti; he just hopes people will keep him awake. David Blaine often talks about his 1999 trip to the Island where he spent 10 days among the most impoverished people in the world showing them his type of magic. His trip to Haiti can be seen in the documentary Fearless.

Via The Los Angeles Times: "Anna Brown was homeless and had so much pain in her legs that she couldn't walk. When Brown, 29, refused to leave the emergency room at St. Mary's Health Center in Richmond Heights, Mo., a suburb near inner St. Louis, the police thought she was on drugs and arrested her for trespassing. She'd already been examined, and a doctor said she was healthy enough to go to jail. The police carried her into a jail cell by her arms and ankles, her body slackened. There were a couple of beds in the cell, but they left her on the concrete floor. A couple of officers stood by the door as she writhed and moaned, and then they walked away. "They thought she was a drug seeker," an officer said later.
