In the midst of central London, a successful Indian restaurant called 'Gaylord' is run by a Londoner of Indian origin called Pinu. An introvert, Pinu suffers from a major inferiority complex-he has never experienced any intimacy with a woman! Pinu's solitary life gets thrown into an electrifying frenzy when suddenly, one day he meets Kamlesh an aspiring comedian who joins his restaurant as a cook and Renu, a cartoonist, who starts working for him as a cashier. Under Renu and Kamlesh's initiative, Gaylord slowly transforms, as does Pinu. The gregarious and cheerful twosome help the reticent Pinu slowly draw out of his shell and for the first time ever, Pinu experiences the joys of friendship. Life is cruising along at its new refreshing pace, until one day Pinu accidentally ends up in bed with Kamlesh and to his great shock, realizes later that he actually enjoyed it. In order to sort his confusion, Pinu seeks guidance from his trusted cousin, who advices him that the only way to sort his confusion is to actually sleep with a woman and see if he enjoys it! Straight is the story of Pinu Patel's hilarious misadventures to finally loose his virginity, but more importantly, it is the bitter-sweet tale of discovering love, gay or straight.

'Kadal', directed by his disciple Saktivel and dubbed into Telugu with the title 'Premiste' and released on Dasara day, is an example.
