Flower Mound's Waterford Drive is lined with well-manicured $300000 homes. So, when a new neighbor moved in without the usual sale, mortgage-paying homeowners had a few questions. "What paperwork is it and how is it legally binding if he doesn't legally own the house?" said Leigh Lowrie, a neighboring resident. "He just squats there." Lowrie and her husband said the house down the street was in foreclosure for more than a year and the owner walked away. Then, the mortgage company went out of business. Apparently, that opened the door for someone to take advantage of the situation. But, Kenneth Robinson said he's no squatter. He said he moved in on June 17 after months of research about a Texas law called "adverse possession." "This is not a normal process, but it is not a process that is not known," he said. "It's just not known to everybody." He says an online form he printed out and filed at the Denton County courthouse for $16 gave him rights to the house. The paper says the house was abandoned and he's claiming ownership. "I added some things here for my own protection," Robinson said. The house is virtually empty, with just a few pieces of furniture. Texas Teen Ben Breedlove Posted Powerful Videos Before Christmas Death
A Texas teenager who said he cheated death three times despite a dangerous heart condition died Christmas night from a heart attack, but not before posting a two-part video on YouTube telling his story and describing a series of powerful visions. In the videos that have since gone viral, 18-year-old Ben Breedlove of Austin can be seen silently sitting in a room and using handwritten note cards to tell his story. The teen suffered from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a condition in which one part of the heart is thicker than the other parts, making it difficult for the heart to pump blood. Many people are now saying what they saw was a UFO in the sky over south Laredo before four this morning. But not everyone believes it. Annette Garcia has more. Caught on camera. This video shot a Pro 8 News viewer allegedly shows a light some say is coming from a UFO. The light that seems like an ordinary star shone brightly over Laredo around four Tuesday morning. Its the second night in a row its been spotted. Witnesses took to the Pro 8 News facebook page posting details of what they saw. One person said the light seemed to stay in one spot. Another said he and his wife saw it between two and four am It was a bright white light and turned to two, then back to one. Witnesses say it was flying around the south Laredo area, then flew back up to central Laredo towards loop twenty and then back around and down highway 83 before it disappeared. According to The Gonzales Cannon, federal officials arrived at the scene and assumed command of the operation under the pretense "local officials never made a formal request for volunteers." Jennifer Jones, a spokesperson with the US National Interagency Incident Center, confirmed that a federal group comprised of several agencies would be assuming command in Bastrop County. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, FEMA refused to allow volunteer firefighters from around the nation, as well as trucks loaded with donated water, from entering New Orleans as troops, police, and mercenaries went house-to-house confiscating weapons. Officials in Louisiana accused FEMA of making the situation worse with red tape and a hesitant response immediately after Katrina blasted into the coasts of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama, the Los Angeles Times reported on September 5, 2005. Alex Jones was contacted on Tuesday by firefighters who confirmed that FEMA is blocking volunteer assistance and has frustrated local attempts through the US Forest Service and its maze of bureaucratic red tape.
