Testament was directed by Brandon Christensen Blessed by a Burden is an Alternative Metal band from 'Sin City' Las Vegas, Nevada. Merging symphonic composition with a post-hardcore style, they're bringing a new sound to the music scene. The band was founded in mid 2010 by guitarist/songwriter Josh Osborne, and current roster includes vocalist Harrison Lea, guitarist Mikey Mutzhaus, bassist Steven Findlay, and drummer Chris Alyx. After a two week west coast tour in Oct/Nov 2010, Blessed by a Burden entered and won the 'Rock Yourself to Sleep Tour 2011' contest, gaining the oppurtunity to tour with We Came As Romans and For Today in January 2011. Once back from tour, Blessed by a Burden signed with Standby Records and finished recording their ep with producer Patrick Crisci. The ep, titled 'Addiction', is set to be released in Oct 2011. The guys plan to tour again after the release, and begin working on their first full-length album. TESTAMENT (1983) - James Horner - The "Bittersweet Memories" Suite
The 1983 film Testament was originally produced as a television project for PBS's "American Playhouse," but the quality of the film was considered so high that Paramount decided to purchase the rights for a full theatrical release. Its production qualities are still those of a made-for-TV film, with minimal special effects, stunning acting, and a reliance on a strong adaptation of Carol Amen's short story, "The Last Testament." The story resembles many that prevailed in Ronald Reagan's nuclear-ambitious early-80's, with the concurrently seen telefilm The Last Day better remembered for its treatment of everyday America after a nuclear war. The stark reality of Lynne Littman's film is a disturbing experience to say the least, with the primary suburban family in its story slowly dying off as radiation spreads and the skies grow dark. It is understandable that James Horner's score for the film is equally depressing. Built for a small ensemble and usually consisting of solo trumpet or woodwind performances, the score is extremely respectful while mourning a lifestyle lost. Two standout tracks include the cue for the bike ride between father and son before the war, with Horner providing one of his more enjoyable family theme variations for horn, synthesizer, harp, piano, and strings (an interesting precursor to his children's work a decade later). With intro "Signs Of Chaos". Testament was formed in the San Francisco area in 1983 by guitarist Eric Peterson and his cousin, Derrick Ramirez, also guitarist, originally by name Legacy. The band soon recruited bassist Greg Christian, drummer Louie Clemente, and vocalist Steve Souza. Ramirez was subsequently replaced by guitarist Alex Skolnick, who had studied under San Francisco guitarist Joe Satriani. The band released two demo-tapes in 1984 and '85. Steve Souza subsequently left the band to join Exodus in 1986, and suggested that Chuck Billy should replace him on lead vocals. While recording their first album, the band was forced to change their name to Testament (which was suggested by Billy Milano of SOD) because the old name was already used by another band. Testament's first album, The Legacy, was released in 1987 on Megaforce Records. The band quickly managed to increase their exposure by heading out on a successful tour of America and Europe with Anthrax, who were then touring in support of their Among the Living album. On this tour the Live at Eindhoven EP was recorded. The next album, The New Order, was released in 1988, and found the band continuing in a similar vein. After another successful world tour the band headed back into the studio to record Practice What You Preach.
