Terminator Salvation
The fourth installment of the Terminator series follows an adult John Connor (played by Christian Bale) as he attempts to organize a human resistance force which could prove to be mankind's last true hope in the war against the machines. Opening in the year 2018, Terminator Salvation finds John Connor's certainty about the future shaken by the sudden appearance of a mysterious stranger named Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), whose last memory is of sitting on death row and awaiting execution. Unable to determine whether Marcus was sent from the future or rescued from the past, Connor begins to wonder whether there is still any hope left for the human race as the robots grow more powerful and aggressive than ever before. It appears that Skynet is preparing a devastating final attack designed to eliminate the human resistance once and for all, leaving Connor and Marcus with no choice but to strike back at the cybernetic heart of Skynet's operations. Once there, the two battle-scarred soldiers discover a devastating secret regarding the potential annihilation of all humankind. Terminator Salvation Official Trailer There's not a whole lot of reason to doubt that Terminator: Salvation is going to be anything more than a colossal cash grab in an era when cash is already tight enough as it is. But watching the trailer is at least some indication that you'll at least get something out of this particular robbery--two solid hours of robots of various sizes making large quantities of stuff go boom. Check it out. No one's claiming--with the possible exception of Christian Bale and the Director McG, neither of which are exactly high on the old credibility scale--that this is going to be some kind of cinematic masterpiece that must by law and statute receive a quantity of Oscar nods. All claims so far suggest that this will be a highly explosive punch in the neck and all available evidence suggests that, for once, it's total truth in advertising. Well, we've been hearing rumors that there might be a Terminator 5, but before that gets settled, we might get to see an animated feature film instead. The company that owns the rights to the Terminator series, Hannover House and Annapurna Pictures, released a piece of concept art titling the film Terminator 3000. President of the company Eric Parkinson told thearnoldfans.com that " I think [Arnold would] do the voice of the T-800 in this proposed Terminator 3000. We're excited about it, and we think it makes perfect sense and with all due respect to Arnold, I think this would be another great and quick way for him to get another movie out with just a short time in a recording studio." . Parkinson also said that although the story and script are still being developed, they are creating a character of Arnold "in his absolute peak." So even though Arnold is getting older, it sounds like maybe they're going with a younger T-800. They are planning on using CGI similar to that used in James Cameron's other huge flick, Avatar, and may look a little like the CGI animation used to animate Arnold in Terminator Salvation. .
