Teen Idols - 20 below
It's warm out tonite But I'm freezing She said she's moving out But there's just no good reason I tried to tell her not to go I turned the fire up But it's still twenty below Whatever happened to the girl I used to know? Her sunny summer breeze Turned to frigid blasts of ice and snow Her stares are ice And her shoulder's turning cold What did I do to make her mercury start dropping low It's not the first time that he's lied to me before But I know I've had enough I won't listen to him anymore If he wants someone else why won't he tell me so? Cos I'm left out in the cold And the temperature is twenty below Cold showers warm me up from nights we spent in bed That's not lipstick on my collar And I don't know any pretty redheads Her accusations sending cold chills up my spine And I'll always tell the truth Because melted snowmen never lie It's not the first time that he's lied to me before But I know I've had enough I won't listen to him anymore If he wants someone else why won't he tell me so? Cos I'm left out in the cold And the temperature is twenty below Twenty below our love is freezing Why should we carry on if there's just no good reason? Our frozen tears have turned to snow My love can't make a spark when your hearts twenty below Twenty below our love is freezing Why should we carry on if there's just no good reason? Our frozen tears have turned to snow My love can't make a spark when your hearts twenty below

Rock 'N Roll's Greatest Teen Idols [Full DVD]
The era of Teel Idols began in the late 1950s with the explosive combination of the birth of Rock and Roll and television. A crop of smooth crooners and raunchy rockers drove teens wild with their angst ridden songs. The first batch of Teen Idols left an indelible mark on both the recording industry and television, establishing a creative path that is still well-traveled today. Many of the performances featured on this DVD were recorded at the Rock n Roll Palace in Orlando, Florida. However, there are a few that have been compiled from the film Rock Rock Rock.
Teen Idols "Come Dance With Me"
Teen Idols was formed in Nashville, TN in 1992 by guitarist Phillip Hill and singer Matt Benson. The band quickly gained local popularity while playing at local venues such as Lucy's Record Shop and receiving frequent airplay on Nashville college radio. During the mid-90s, dispite numerous line-up changes, they released several EPs under the local indie label, House O' Pain Records. In 1996, the Nashville Music Association nominated the band for their Independent Artist of the Year award. A year later, Teen Idols released their first full-length album under the indie label Honest Don's - a subsidiary of Fat Wreck Chords. They released two other albums under the Honest Don's label before signing to Fueled by Ramen in early 2003. Around that time, singer Keith Witt left the band and Kevin Seirzega (formerly of Detroit-based PT's Revenge) took over the vocals. Shortly thereafter, the band released the album Nothing to Prove in July, 2003, but broke up during the subsequent tour. After a 5 1/2 year absence, and the relocation of both Phillip Hill and Keith Witt to Chicago, IL, Teen Idols decided to reform with drummer Nathan Bice (Even In Blackouts/Deadly Sins) and bassist Yvonne Szumski (The Scissors) and are ready to play their brand of 50's influenced pop punk once again!

Blackfoot - Teenage Idol [Official Music Video]
Blackfoot - Teenage Idol www.facebook.com From "Siogo" [1983] Lyrics: A lonely boy in the city Standing tall up to his blue jean jacket and eyes of pity He's got a dream, now he told his Papa "Don't you worry Daddy I'll be back to show you what a life I've made" With a tear falling from his eyes He knew that he wanted to be Oh, he wants to be, yes, he's got to be Oh, he'd love to be a teenage idol Standing in his hometown Waiting for the bus that'll take him Farther than he's ever been Picked up his bags and kissed his sweetheart "Don't you worry honey, I'll be back To show you what a life I've made" With a tear falling from her eyes She knew that he'd love to be Oh, he wants to be, yes, he's got to be Oh, he'd love to be a teenage idol Oh, if he could see, his name on the marquee He'd live so happily, as a teenage idol He's in another city Standing tall up to his satin jacket and eyes of pity He's got it all except for his Papa "Don't you worry, Daddy I've shown them what a pretty life I've made Even though I'll miss you badly You know I always wanted to be" Oh, I want to be, yes, I've got to be Oh, I'd love to be a teenage idol Oh, I want to be, yes, I've got to be Oh, I'd love to be a teenage idol Yes, I want to be, oh, I've got to be Oh, I'd want to be a teenage idol Yes, I'd love to see, my name on the marquee I'd live so happily as a teenage idol Oh, I'd want to be, yes, I've got to be Oh, I'd love to be a teenage idol
I'm Gonna Be A Teenage Idol - Elton John (Don't Shoot Me 7 of 10)
I'M GONNA BE A TEENAGE IDOL Elton John Don't Shoot Me (I'm Only The Piano Player) (1973) Well there's slim times when my words won't rhyme And the hills I face are a long hard climb I just sit cross legged with my old guitar It kind of makes me feel like a rock and roll star Well it makes me laugh Lord it makes me cry And I think for once let me just get high Let me get electric put a silk suit on Turn my old guitar into a tommy gun And root-toot-shoot myself to fame Every kid alive gonna know my name An overnight phenomenon like there's never been A motivated supersonic king of the scene I'll be a teenage idol, just give me a break I'm gonna be a teenage idol no matter how long it takes You can't imagine what it means to me I'm gonna grab myself a place in history A teenage idol that's what I'm gonna be Well life is short and the world is rough And if you're gonna boogie boy you got to be tough Nobody knows if I'm dead or alive I just drink myself to sleep each night And so I pray to the teenage god of rock If I make it big let me stay on top You got to cut me loose from this one room dive Put me on the ladder keep this boy alive

Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favor of fair use. Just a little tribute to four fellas I would have loved to have dated, but I was born too late! James Darren, Fabian, Michael Callan and John Saxon were talented performers who made more than their share of females swoon in the 50s and 60s. All four are still going strong and have lost none of their charm and talent. I fell in love with James Darren in "Gidget" (1959), Fabian in "Ride The Wild Surf" (1964), Michael Callan in "Gidget Goes Hawaiian (1961), and John Saxon through "Portrait In Black" (1960) and later in "A Nightmare On Elm Street" (1984) and "Black Christmas" (1974). Darren and Callan appeared together in "Because They're Young" and "Gidget Goes Hawaiian", and Fabian and Saxon appeared together in "Mr Hobbs Takes A Vacation" (1962). The song is of course by the Poni-Tails. Clips from: Gidget (1959) Because They're Young (1960, trailer) What's My Line? Frankie Avalon - Bobby Sox To Stockings
One of a spate of teen idols to come out of Philadelphia in the 1950s and 1960s, Frankie Avalon--unlike many of the others--actually had a musical background, having been taught to play the trumpet at a very young age by his father. As a youth Avalon performed in local clubs and theaters. He won a local TV talent contest playing a trumpet solo. One day in 1952 he was performing at a private party held for singer Al Martino. A talent scout who was also at the party was impressed enough by Avalon to get him an appearance on Jackie Gleason's TV show, which led to more television appearances, and in 1954 he cut his own record on a small local label. At age 12 he was in a band called Rocco and the Saints, which included another soon-to-be famous teen singer, Bobby Rydell. Avalon eventually landed a recording contract with Philadelphia's Chancellor Records, and he recorded "Cupid" and "Teacher's Pet". These records got him his first movie role, a small part in Jamboree (1957) designed to promote "Teacher's Pet." His next record was "De De Dinah", a song written by his managers (and one for which he had so little respect that he pinched his nose while recording it, resulting in its extremely nasal sound). After an appearance on Dick Clark's teen dance show "Bandstand" (1952), sales of the record zoomed and it eventually sold more than a million copies. His next several songs were also big hits, and in 1959 he recorded the song he is probably best known for, the million-selling ...

My way - Paul Anka - beautiful polish version
Paul Albert Anka, OC (born July 30, 1941) is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and actor. Anka first became famous as a teen idol in the late 1950s and 1960s with hit songs like "Diana'", "Lonely Boy", and "Put Your Head on My Shoulder". He went on to write such well-known music as the theme for The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson and one of Tom Jones's biggest hits, "She's a Lady", and the English lyrics for Frank Sinatra's signature song, "My Way". In 1983, he co-wrote with Michael Jackson the song "I Never Heard", which was retitled and released in 2009 under the name "This Is It". An additional song that Jackson co-wrote with Anka from this 1983 session, "Love Never Felt So Good", has since been discovered, and will be released in the near future. Anka became a naturalized US citizen in 1990.Anka recorded his first single "I Confess" at age 14. In 1957 he went to New York City where he auditioned for Don Costa at ABC, singing what was widely believed to be a lovestruck verse he had written to a former babysitter. In an interview with NPR's Terry Gross in 2005, he stated that it was to a girl at his church who he hardly knew. The song, "Diana", brought Anka instant stardom as it rocketed to number one on the Canadian and US music charts. "Diana" is one of the best selling singles ever by a Canadian recording artist. He followed up with four songs that made it into the Top 20 in 1958, including "It's Time to Cry", which made #4 and "(All Of a Sudden) My Heart Sings ...
